Work related advise needed

About 6 weeks ago, I left a job that I had worked at for 18 years. The other ladies in the office gave me a $100 B&BW gift card as a farewell gift.

Just this week, my former boss offered me my job back and I have agreed to return to work there.

My question is what should I do about the gift card? I haven't used any of it. Should I offer to pay them back for it? Should I buy them all something with it? Should I not even bring it up?

Please help. I start Monday and I don't know what to do.

Since you are returning, I think you should return the gift. If they say they don't want ir back, maybe you can share it with your coworker's or buy something nice for the office with it.

I'm with the others here...I'd buy something for the office. Since it's B&BW (and every office I've worked in supplied cheap, nasty soap in the restrooms) I'd buy great soaps and lotions for the all the bathrooms.

I agree. Stock up on some soap and lotion for the office. At my old office, I once bought some B&BW antibacterial hand soap for our little kitchen and everyone loved it. It was just so much better than the harsh hand soap they stocked in the bathroom.

I like the idea of using the card to buy lotions and soaps and maybe room freshners for your co-workers to use in the Ladies room.

Tell them that you'd be happy to reimburse them the $100, give it to the person who "organized" the collection for the GC (there's always an organizer!!) and she'll know how to disperse the funds or tell them you'll use it to buy nice soaps and hand lotions for the office and what scents would they like.

I'd make it their choice though.

I will make it their choice. I've known all these women for many, many years and I'm really anticipating them saying something like "oh don't worry about it". If they do then at least I have many ideas for a Plan B.
