Work from home for Disney?

Hopefully this is the right spot for this. Looking at possibilities of working from home in some capacity that relates to Disney. Co-workers and friends always come to me for advice on where to stay, eat, etc. so was wondering if there are any places where you can make reservations from home?

For example, I came across Academy Travel that is offering spots to become independent agents. Don't know how legit it is but the company has been around for a while.

Have any of you done any kind of Disney related work from home?

Working for a Travel Agency that specializes in a specific destination isn't the same as working for that destination. If that's what you want to do, search for Earmarked Agencies. Working at home "for Disney" also isn't the same as working for Disney. There are contractors who have Disney as a client and hire WAH personnel, but only in a few states.

My friend did Disney dining reservations from home YEARS ago. She had to provide a computer and internet connection. She had to invest her own money in training material and take the course on her own time. Once she was trained, she would have to sign up for shifts and they were awarded based on seniority. When she was working she had to be at her computer/phone the entire time except for limited breaks.

She did not stick with it long and I believe that she never made enough money to cover her investment.

Since she was actually working for a contracted company, she did not get any Disney perks.
