Words You Misspell

Theatre, which even now is highlighted on my screen in red. Spellcheck is judging me! That's how it was spelled at the local cinema growing up so that spelling stuck

Same here, and my high school’s drama club was called Theatre Guild. FWIW, almost all the NYC Broadway theatres use the British spelling.

I've sort of given up on "theatre" and no longer care much if I'm spelling it the American, English, French or Spanish way as long as others understand what I've written

I agree (see above), and don’t think using the US vs. UK spelling (or vice versa) is the same as misspelling a word, because technically both are acceptable.

Haha. I don’t know how to show it phonetically. So try th/ee/et/rr but with the emphasis on the et.
We also pronounce tooth, tuth.
