Word of caution - watch your buggy

My sis borrowed our video camera while we were there this wk. We left the Silver Spur at 8 just as Candlebration was starting. She went to video it-only to realise she had left it in restaurant :scared1: :scared1:

She legged it back in there-thankfully it was still hanging on the back of the chair where she had left it :rolleyes1

I left our camera hanging on the back of a toilet door in Frontierland, I have never run so fast in my life as I did when I legged it back there, thankfully it was the ones near the entrance, they always seem to be quiet, I think it's because they're tucked away - thank god the camera was still there.

Lisa I can't believe anyone would steal like that, it's just unforgivable, knowing that your going to leave a child cold and wet, there really are some low life around :sad2:

We left our (horribly expensive) camera on the seat in the Buzz ride. We had got ALL the way across to the studios before we realised. Mr EK ran like - well, a very fast running thing - all the way out of the studios, back into the park, and back to Buzz. No camera. CMs had had a shift change so they were a bit sort of clueless (although very helpful). They suggested he try City Hall. He rang me as he walked down main st back to city hall and sounded very disconsolate.

When he got to City Hall he asked about it, described it, and a CM said they thought they could help him, they had a camera, but how did they know it was his, as it has no distinguishing marks, no funky strap or case. Its a posh, but not unusual, Fuji digital. Also, Mr EK doesn't have an eye for detail so all he really knew was it was a black Fuji camera.

The CM and Mr EK debated this for a while because even describing the pictures on the camera would be a bit pointless - "Er, a castle, some pirates, a parade, a dragon, a hotel, a train, a castle again" - like four million other people.

Then Mr EK had a flash of genius and took a picture of me out of his wallet, slapped it on the counter with a huge smile and said 'last picture is of this woman outside Buzz' - CM grinned back and produced the camera.

Oh the relief!!

I'm sorry this happened to you, hard to believe someone would do that at Disneyland of all places...

I was so worried about our Loola pushchair that even on some of the outdoor rides I couldn't really relax unless I could see it, I was worried about someone taking it. There never seemed to be any staff near them to keep an eye on them.

Next time i'm taking the cheap buggy, not as comfortable for Matilda but will serve its purpose and if it gets stolen I won't lose any sleep over it!

grrrr @ stealing a buggy or blanket etc !

it wouldn't surprise me if people go in especially for this purpose! ( and to pickpocket etc)

watch people leaving their prams / buggies to go on a ride

then nab them while you are out of view !

a days enrty fee will be worth it if they get "lucky" :(

never heard / seen of any being stolen during our trips

but i also am  :confused3 as to why people bring their expensive prams to DLP !

I have always thought why do people leave such valuable things in push chairs I am not implying you did but i have walked past stroller parking seeing every ones souvenirs packed under their buggys and cant belive that people do i think people do think it doesnt happen in Disney but unfortunatly people like that are every where and such an upsetting thought that people cant trust one another now :( I am sorry to hear some one did some thing like that to you i hope it didnt ruin your trip though

i know what you mean i thought the same on my trip.

we even took the tiny bags containing pens off the buggy as i thought there was no point drawing attention to my buggy.

i feel terrible for anyone it has happened to. i cant believe someone would take a blanket a rain cover. you would really have to be a low life that you didnt bring the proper gear for your kid but would leave another kid cold and wet. that really is just horrible

I know the thought upsets me and we dont even have kids when me and Dave go we cant believe some things we see on our trips some things you hear are so disturbing im just glad it doesnt stop people going i think in some ways that becasue of bad weather and the small amount of staff that DLRP suffers more there arent as many CMs around to keep watch but saying that how is a CM to know that some one is taking buggy that isnt theirs

I cant understand why anyone would take an really expensive buggy to DLRP and then leave it unattended whilst they go on a ride. Its Disneyland I know, but it's still the same sad world we live in where anything not tied down has the chance of being stolen.

My bugaboo was always left at home and the cheap £30 argos jobbie was taken to DLRP. Then who cares of it gets stolen. Best way to do it, or take a cheap chain and lock like others have suggested.

I'm lucky, in all my Disney visits, I haven't really lost anything or hadn't anything stolen.
Once I forgot my Minnie Mouse ears at DL's Indiana Jones; since it's a rocky ride, I had put them in the "pouch" in front of my seat, and being all excited and in a hurry to ride it one more time before they would kick me out of the park, I hurried out of the car. Once outside, I realized I had forgotten my ears and kind of panicked (those ears were almost vintage, lol), so I went back inside, explained (half crying  ) that I had forgotten my ears. The CMs checked each and every car coming by in the loading station, and I think they found the ears in about the 127th car, lol

Also in DL, the persons before me in the Matterhorn bobsled had lost their wallet, I found it when I got in, gave it to the CM, didn't even look inside.
