Items can last 30 seconds or 4 hours. Should you stay up? Not if you have work to do tomorrow! The woot off will go on for anywhere from twelve to 48 (or more) hours so it can become an unhealthy obsession. I learned that the hard way my first woot off!
Woot.com (and kids.woot.com) is a site that usually has one item for sale per day. If it sells out there's nothing till the next day. At midnight (central time) it changes.
Just about every month toward the end of the month they have a "woot off" which is essentially cleaning out their stockroom. They may have one or two of an item to sell, or they may have thousands. During the woot off they put up an item and when it sells out they put up another item. They can go very quickly or very slowly, depending on the item and the time of day.
Sometimes the prices are lower, but generally it's an opportunity to grab what you may have missed before.
BOC normally happens around 2pm-ish PST, and most always happens on the last day of the Woot Off. Just make sure you are around your computer from 1:45-ish to 3:45-ish and your chances of missing it are slim, IMO. Don't blame me if they change the typical BOC timeframe though!
How many baby monitors do they have to sell? That ugly thing has been up for more than an hour now!!! If I had need of one, I might not be tempted with that ugly clown face shown. Good grief, don't they realize how many people are skeeved out by clowns?

Does anyone else go to wooters.us for the woot tracker? I have it on during all woot offs. It helps to get the BOC, plus if your volume is up you can tell when the item has changed without refreshing your page all the time. Make sure you are logged in to woot, and your pop ups are not blocked (for wooters.us ) and when the BOC comes up, you are automatically directed to the "I want one" page.
So this is also my first Woot-Off. I stayed up for a while last night 'till their servers crashed for a while, then went to bed.
How much do they usually sell the BOC for?
Thanks!

BoC stands for "Bag of Crap". It's essentially a mystery bag where you don't know what you're buying. Some people have gotten really great things in them, some pretty much get crap. lol It's usually odds and ends type things that they haven't been able to sell all quantities of on previous woots. But I have seen people get shirts, digital cameras, etc. It really varies.
I can't recall how much they are.. I've never been able to get one in time. They often sell out in under a minute. I know it's not much (under $10 iirc) so it's affordable if it ends up being junk.
My 4 month old DS is growth-spurting and his night feeding went from 2:00 until 3:30 last night. Can you imagine what I did for that time? I did get a nice contact grill with removable plates for half price...
If the wootoff veers to another woot page (like kids, or wine) they will usually have a bar up that says "detour" and direct you to the right page. Once they sell enough of the detour then you go back to the wootoff.
