My freind just found out Northwestern will get Goverment Stimulus money for a project he was working on..

A $712,883 research grant to develop “machine-generated humor“. Project will design artificially intelligent “comedic performance agents”, and will “deploy them both on and off-line for the enjoyment and illumination of everyday citizens”.

Wow I'm so glad the goverment can spend that much money to stimulate the economy on something that fun!!!!

The greater picture is why can't they stimulate the economy to bring down the national unemployment rate of near 13%...

I'm happy your friend has gotta A job,but thats not nearly enough what thr goverment can do for the other millions out of work!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! This is exactly the type of government spending people complain about! This type of research should be privately funded! Just think what all this money could have done for medical research or job training.

I agree that this is a total waste of money.

However, I'm not sure how "your buddy" just found out because this grant was awarded on June 8, 2009.

So pretty much this grant will employ 3.65 people.Great we are back in the Reagan years where A hammer cost $200 and A toilet seat $100!!!!
