I had an existing res. at the WL for Dec 5-9 but really wanted the poly. I called today just to see what the rates were and said I had heard about a code (gave the 3 letter code for w/dining) and wanted to see if I could use it. Never said I had it and he never asked for a pin of any kind. The CM was so nice! He checked and said it wouldn't work for my current dates but if I wanted to push it a week he could get me into the CR. I've never stayed at a deluxe EVER but dh and I thought proximity to MK is key since we'll have a 2 year old who will need to nap. Last trip when we stayed at ASMu our then 3 yr old dd was crying and begging to lay down on the bus back to the resort.
So anyway the cm gave me CR garden view (don't care about view) with dining and a one day pass (we get the discounted ones through a diff. vendor) for 1528. Not substantially less than we had for WL ( about 250 diff) but savings is savings and we're on the monorail baby!!! So now we're Dec. 12-16 at CR.:yay:

I am cheering for you!! :cheer2:

We will be checking on the 9th ourselves, WITH the code too!!

It is an early Christmas for you guys and us too!

SlightlyGoofy, I forgot-how is that new car? Only four more months & then you can take it out:rotfl: Actually we have a pretty nice day today:thumbsup2

Bonzie, old pal. :) I am taking a road trip to Ohio this next weekend just to get a few miles on the new car before we get to head south, one of these days (sooon???) :lmao: Want a ride?

We will be over at the SPORTS where all of us cheap folks stay. I think I am signed up on a few of the December threads so maybe we can plan a meet?

Just look for a grinning, deaf gal with a lime green "Slightly Goofy' shirt on. I will have to post a picture of me with that shirt one of these fine days.

Let's see if that worked. If it did it is the first picture I have ever posted on the DIS. Hope my face does not scare anyone off. :confused3

Anyone wanna guess which one is me?:lmao:

This was a EWP Suite mini meet we had this summer. The picture is of a couple of our members who were with us in spirit if not in fact. We are a close bunch. Several of us are Hoosiers (hint, hint) and we get together now and then.

Oh my, you are beautiful:cutie: I'd much rather be staying at Pop to save the $ but DH will not stay in a room with the two kids. We could have stayed for almost what one night is costing but the kids have been bugging to go back & this is the only way I'd do it. There will be NO DDP though, have to make concessions somewhere. I really wanted to do Candlelight P but not this time:mad: . What makes me even madder is I just bet he is not gonna be able to go cause of school & work when the time comes:headache: . Have a safe trip, keep in touch.

Hey, Bon!!!

You need glasses but otherwise you seem like a mighty fine person. :lmao:

I have been on many budget trips so I know what you mean. ALL trips are good, budget or otherwise. Being the wise DISer that you are you will do well. I hope your hubby CAN go when the time comes. Mine would not think of me going alone.

Do not fear on the CP, the package is silly anyway IMO. I did one year because I am not able to stand in long lines only to find out that I was out the cash, ate at a place I did not want to eat at AND still had to stand in a very long line. Just get yourself a seat somewhere and when they drop the rope grab some seats. As long as you are not behind a tree you will be fine and that is one concert that is best viewed from the rear.

If your hubby has to back out at the last minute maybe you could switch your ressies to a Value and add the DP? Just a thought.

Will you drive or fly?

SG/Linda

No glasses needed here:love: We will fly, I am too afraid to road trip with the boys(6&&). If something would happen I'd go wacky. I had to wait too long to get to be a Mom:banana: I just called & they said I can change up to 5 days out since it is room only but I cannot change it into a package:guilty: at that point. It will be fine, I was h-bent my kids would see Disney at Christmas this year! My DS#1 actually gets teary at the parades, man I love that kid:rotfl: . The other one just worries about treats, he is definitely mine too:rotfl2:

OK, Bon, flattery will get you anywhere (almost). :lmao:

When I go to DW I always pick a 'Family of the Day' when we take the bus to MK. If our dates match up somehow YOU will be MY family of the day. That entitles you to prime seats for the parade without having to wait in line. I will PM you with the details privately or else everyone else will grab our seats. :rotfl2:

Also if you need a grocery run I can do that for you as well. We drive down. I plumb forgot where you live or I would offer to pack some stuff for you so you would not have to haul it on the airplane. :cool1:

Never fear, I am NOT the sort of person who would want to hang out with you all. NOT that you are not delightful people but I am old, slow and loathe to hold anyone back. I march to my own drummer and let others do the same.

SG/Linda

Wellllll, Miss Linda I'll take you up on that parade offer:wizard: Don't want to sound like a "mooch" though. It is always fun to find friends & neighbors at WDW:thumbsup2 . I love my kids BUT they are mine & are bundles of energy(Thank God), sure some people would have different views. There are even times I need to escape:rotfl2: . In any case, if you want to "hang" we'd be delighted:) .
We are in Starke Co., that is such a nice offer but I've almost got it down & what I can't handle I ship or shop:rotfl: .
If your getaway brings you to our neck of the woods let me know, I'll put the pot on:hippie:

Bon, you would not be a mooch. You would be accepting an offer from a lady who hates watching parades WITHOUT children around. It is my life's work to teach children the love of reading and I even have a grandkid here right now. I love kids and if they are full of energy I am delighted, that means they are healthy. Besides, by the time the parade comes by they will be so tired they will not be able to move. :lmao:

I looked up Starke County and you live way up the other way from us. We live in Bartholomew County. If you drove you could wave on your way by. :thumbsup2

I am 58 years old and have never been offered 'pot' before. Oh, you mean tea??? :dance3: I like mine with lots of ice and no sugar please?

Just make sure you PM me so I have you on my 'list' for December. I make a good wind break if it gets cold too.

My passion. I worked for Waldenbooks before I got married, looooong hours & my own personal library:laughing:
Ours are finally on the way to being healthy. We returned from WDW on Sun & youngest had pneumonia the entire time:confused3 I felt like a big jerk. He is on the mend:banana:
I have no idea where you live:rotfl: Guess I don't get out much.
I can do your sweet tea or a mixer but that is about as hard as it gets around here:lmao:

Bon, I am down south of Indianapolis, not far off 65 so if you ever drove you could wave as you passed by. :cool1:

Could you please make my tea WITHOUT sugar? I am sweet enough already. (I am going to heck for lying, I know it)

Oh,your poor baby was sick? I know what you mean about feeling like a bad mom. It always seemed as if it was an unnecessary doctor's visit if I took mine and if I did not it was something serious. Guilt, it goes with being a mom.

I can promise you that we are going to get tossed from this thread for being OT, I have MUCH experience with this 'sin', and if we do please come join us over on the CB at the EWP Suite. I believe it is the longest running thread in DIS history or nearly so. Not many members but we are a close knit group. Most of them are younger like yourself. I am the resident 'granny'. :woohoo:

I put you down on my DECEMBER 'to do' list. When it gets closer to time and we have our schedules more fixed we will coordinate parade plans???:hourglass

We stayed at the CR on our 1st family trip there last May when my son was 15mo. It was FANTASTIC!! We went back to the room in the afternoon for naps. He LOVED playing not just in the pool but at the beach there. It was his 1st time walking on sand and it was so precious to catch on tape! He was a HUGE FAN of the monorail, and so were we since it got us back "home" so easily. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Say 'hi' to the place for me... I miss it!!! :wave2:

"Sand is GREAT!!!"

I didn't know there was a beach! Oh, I hope December brings warm weather next year!!! I"d more or less discounted the idea of us doing any swimming but we'll bring our bathing suits just in case. Thank you!!

Hi Leah!

I met another neighbor a couple of years ago on the Boards. Several of the EWP ladies are Hoosiers as well.

HOPEfully you can guess where I live. :lmao:

I am headed for Columbus this morning. My husband worked for Cummins for 34 years.

Its' a Small World After All, It's a Small World After all!!
