Woot Issue

I have ordered from Woot many, many times and have had no problems. On Sunday (8/30), I ordered a Kodak video camera (flip type) from them and was very happy that it arrived on Thursday (9/4). Well, I was happy until I opened the package and found a Kodak Easy Share digital camera inside. I paid $69.99 for the video camera and the camera is probably worth more than that, but that isn't the point. The video camera is supposed to be a birthday present for my son on 9/14 and he really has no use for the digital camera. Has anyone had this happen to them on Woot? I sent them an e-mail, but of course, as my luck goes, they won't be back in the office until Tuesday. Since they are a "clearing house" type of business, what are the chances of me being able to get the video camera. DH thinks they won't have anymore since it was the Woot of the day. I'm not so sure because they sent me a Kodak digital Easy Share camera and I haven't seen them on Woot for awhile. Maybe they keep things in stock. Well, I am going on and on. Just want to know if this has happened to anyone else and if so, what did they do to rectify the situation?

What model does it say on the box or the camera?

They might hold back some stock for customer service situations like yours but in general once they are sold out they are sold out. A couple years ago I bought some earbuds from them and wish I bought 3 pairs instead of 1. They had no more to sell me.

Hopefully you get this resolved on Tuesday.

If it didn't sell out that day they should still have some, whether or not you'd get it in time for the Bday is another story!

I have never had that happen with Woot...but, if you really really want the camcorder, I was flipping channels this am and see that HSN has the RCA Smallwonder camera for $99....I would think the possibility of Woot having more is small, but I would think they will refund your money since the wrong item was shipped.

We have both a Flip and a RCA Smallwonder and they are very very similiar....and with the RCA today, you will get a choice of about 6 or 8 colors and will get it by 9/14

Oh, dude! I ordered that camera, too, and I remember checking back at the end of the evening & it was indeed sold out. Which is not to say they're not due to correct their error; they seem to have a very solid following, so I would guess they will take care of the issue.


I just checked the tracking number & it's on the FedEx truck for delivery...I will be sure to check back in and let you know what my box contains.

The packaging says 'Easy Share' but your video camera should be inside there. Mine was. I was initially alarmed, but when I looked on the end of the box, the small "Factory Reconditioned" barcode label described it as 'PKT VID BLACK CAM Z16 CLASS'

I hope yours is the same as mine was!

Yep, same here. My first thought was someone at Woot sent out the wrong cameras, but opened the box, and there is my red camera, waiting to be loved Must have had a bunch of the Easy Share digital camera boxes lying around...

So jealous you got the red! I waited too long & had to get the black...DH is apparently not secure enough in his masculinity to share a pink video camera with me. Pansy.

The same thing happened. I didn't think to open the box since it was sealed and might have to return it. But I got an e-mail back from them last night and it said to open the box because many of the video cameras were shipping in the incorrect box. Inside was the video camera. I was very happy. As I said, I have been extremely happy with Woot and have had no issues yet. I am glad this one was resolved easily. Thanks for all of your comments!

I found this on Woot's website...the words "Easy Share" are in the name of the item:

Both were Easy Share, but the box definitely said Digital Camera and had a picture of the camera, not the video camera.
