Thats it, Ive done it. Finally booked our first trip to Walt Disney World. Me and my partner both in our 40's are going September 28th for 14 days.

But its a long wait. (i know its not really)

So the planning starts. Well for me it does, my partner knows I get a kick out of it. She goes along with what I say. (her words not me)

Trying to visit Universal, Seaworld, and Space Centre too and of course the shopping. Julie cant come back without a new handbag.

And the countdown begins till the 180 days ;-)

Another first timer! Welcome!

I'm planning my first trip too :)

Where are you staying? :)

Thankyou guys, Im staying at Disney All Star Movie (fantasia) ive booked through Disney itself and although they cant tell me who im flying with i believe only Virgin fly direct from Manchester

What fun .... planning is the best bit and as my dad used to say enjoy the planning and looking forward to the holiday as that always last longer than the holiday itself :thumbsup2

I'm a bit of a planner as well! we are booked up for our first trip in October 2014. 2 weeks staying at Disney! Cannot wait. :yay:

We are only concentrating on WDW though so it will be hard for you to plan in all your other trips and doing Disney but a well prepped plan should stand you in good stead!

Good luck :goodvibes

Just did our first trip , came back sat :)) . Used this site and the touring plan crowd level to book in our days at the parks . Plan went brilliantly with lots of rides that were walk on or only 10 mins wait . We did the Disney parks , Downtown , Cirque de Sol, Epcot food and wine , MNSSHP , Universal halloween night , Seaworld , Discovery Cove , Blizzard Beach and visited both premium outlets , Florida Mall , Mall of millennia and Walmart and a few other supermarkets on the way ! My DH & DS also went to Orlando Gun club near Mall of millennia . My friend brought me back some maps of the parks , so we could use the touring plans to see where we needed to be first .Once we had done the main rides early on in the day the plan then just went to relaxed mode . Also bought the DIS map that is very good as shows all the attractions , restaurants , supermarkets ect on it .We used it to plan and when we were over there , even tho we had sat nav still liked to look on map . Very much enjoyed Disney as it is magical and all very friendly , enjoyed Universal just as much but not as magical as Disney , just didn't look as well kept . Did enjoy some of the shops in the city walk area too . Seaworld was the one park that I found most of staff to be miserable apart from our server at Dine with Shamu who was excellent . The shows were very good and enjoyed feeding the Dolphins . We managed to do all the main rides that we wanted to do in all the parks as we were at the parks at opening but did plan in rest days as everyone said you needed them and we did !! It was nice to have a lay in and just a plan free day . Didn't spend much time in Magic Kingdom as DS 12 not too interested in the princess things . We did do a lot as I thought it would be a one off as DH was not so keen but he's now talking about us returning : )) I can not say how friendly and helpful everyone on here has been . Thanks to everyone ours really was a dream holiday, just ask people for as much advises as possible as it's all in the planning . Also can not recommend Discovery Cove enough as this is a great day quite expensive with Dolphin swim but food and alcohol included all day including all snacks and ice cream . It was my holiday high !! Also found The Unofficial Guide and Brit Guide to Orlando helpful . Hope you enjoy it as much as we did , happy planning .

Brilliant! happy planning. I've a compulsive planner and already planning our next trip which is 2 years away :lmao:

Beware! That first trip leads to many others! I first went in 1981 and we've been fortunate to go back every year, sometimes two or three times, and I'm still not over it! Happy planning, your first trip is soooo magical.

Happy planning! There's nothing to beat the first time you stand at the top of Main Street. It really is the happiest place on earth :thumbsup2

So is there 1 park that you should do before any other?

Also i land at 3pm and want to stay awake as long as poss. Can i go into a park that day or do the tickets start the next day?

You could go into a park but don't bank on it.
Worse case you are delayed, 2 hours in immigration, 1 hour collecting car(if having a car), 1 hour getting to hotel and checking in.
Last time we landed at 3pm we got to Magic Kingdom for 7:30pm and that was a rush. No delays all straight forward but still 7:30pm, we only went in because it was Xmas day, I wouldn't think about it any other time.

A 14 day ticket can be used 15 days if you don't use it every day, there have been reports if you use 14 consecutive days it can't be used the 15th. Disney deny it can be used over 15 days. There is always a chance they will change their system and they stop allowing 15 days use.

Congratulations! Fantastic! We had our first visit to DL in 1997, WDW in 2002 and have been back umpteen times since. Happy planning! :thumbsup2
