Just as an FYI--those shows are pretty staged. I had a friend who appeared on one of them. She had lots of documentation, including a signed contract, but the judge (it was that old bald guy) basically sensationalized the whole thing, wouldn't let her tell her side of the story without cutting off and belittling her.

I was there in the audience that day or I never would have believed the way it was handled. During a break, the judge even told her that had she gone to a regular civil court she would have won without question, but because there was a little kid involved with the other party, he hadd to let them win for good TV.

She got paid $500 plus expenses for doing it though.
