Sometimes it's all about timing.
I live in an area that generally handles snow fine (Cleveland), but last night, the snow hit right around 4-4:30pm. It was only an inch or two, but with the cold, everything iced over and being rush hour, all the plow and salt trucks were stuck in traffic with everyone else. That's how a 20 minute commute turns into 1 hour and 15 minutes (and that's after doing some backroads that avoided some of the bad traffic areas).

At one time??

Yep, in a suburb south of Buffalo. This isn't the worst storm total we've ever had either. In November of 2014, we got 6 feet in 24 hours. That was fun. Not. Every time something like this happens, they call it a "once in a lifetime event". I've had at least 6 once in a life time events go far.
