It's now all Lock n Locked away and will be subjected to fortnightly injections of booze before being frosted for the festivities... It smells FANTASTIC - like the best Yankee Candle ever... :cloud9: Just hope it tastes as good... ;)

Yummmmm....looks fab Karen - even though I don't like fruit cake. :lmao:

I have been out shopping with my mum this morning and bought lots more christmas pressies. Other than Lee - no idea what to get him - I think I only need to get about 5 or 6 more pressies!

That Christmas cake looks wonderful. I haven't made a Christmas cake for years as I find I polish off the left over fruit (& I won't tell you how much marzipan I buy before any actually gets onto the cake!)

Karen your cake looks yummy :thumbsup2

I've just been to Bents and bought my first tree decorations for 2009! :thumbsup2 They have a wonderful selection this year, they've gone very traditional in their displays...I could have spent a fortune! :scared1:

Wrote out my Christmas cards today.

Counting the days until I can put my tree up. 1st December for me.:woohoo:

Anyone put their's up in November?

I told my hubby that I was going to start putting our decs up this week, you should have seen the look I got! :rotfl2:

I think I will start around the middle of November, it will take a while as I usually have a good thorough cleaning session whilst I am at it. I am hoping hubby will agree to getting a real tree this year along with the two artificial one's.

I usually put mine up the weekend after Thanksgiving but had intended to do it the weekend before this year as we're going away on December 27th and would prefer to take them down before we go... However, it's just occurred to me that we're busy for most of the November weekends so goodness knows when it'll get done...

:thumbsup2 I always get at least one real tree, Claire - I like the convenience of a faux tree but I just love a real one...

Normally I do 3 trees (hall, conservatory, living room) BUT the conservatory has turned into a storage area whilst we're having building work done so that's out of bounds. Maybe I'll just do the two this year - easier to take down post-Christmas... ;)

I would love a real tree and dh actually has expressed an interest in getting a real one this year :goodvibes We tend to put our decs up the first weekend in December but this year it's a little bit late for my liking !! We put a tree in our dining room and living room, a cone sparkly tree type thing in the hallway which I bought from the Pier a few years ago and a mini tree in the kitchen ... I can't wait :goodvibes dd asked at the weekend if we could put the xmas tree up

We have had a few real trees and I much prefer them. :thumbsup2 We usually get an 8 foot one for our hallway but we didn't last year as we were in wdw until the 20th dec. The problem we now have is where to put the dogs beds as they are in the spot where the tree goes......need to figure out where I can move them too.

IKWYM. ::yes:: I'm really glad we had this little discussion yesterday as it prompted me to do some serious thinking about where to put the trees this year whilst we're in a state of flux. The faux tree can go in the hall as usual (safer with the dogs hurtling past ;) ) and I've ordered a large potted living tree for a change. Then, after Christmas, we can plant it down the bottom of the garden which is being re-landscaped... :goodvibes :santa: :goodvibes

Ohhh that sounds fab. Where did you order it from? I quite fancy doing that too. :)

I bought the largest option in this one, Claire. It'll go on a storage box in the corner of the living room so will look quite a bit bigger than 150cm... It should be arriving on December 3rd so I'll be able to concentrate on the Disney tree in the hall first before moving onto that one... :santa:

Aw all the way from Scotland and I share the same family name as the tree farmers - sadly no relation though - bang goes that family discount :rolleyes1:lmao: What a lovely tree you will have :goodvibes
