Woohoo I just snagged AKV CL room 30 days out!

We were able to book CL from 3/7-3/12 at about 10 months out and thought we had hit the jackpot. We decided to add a night when we had some points left over we knew we wouldn't use but since it was like 6 months out we just picked WL. Well I called to add Magical Express and DH and I had talked about maybe trying the BW for that one night or just staying at AKL that night so we didn't have to really go far to check in/out. So I called asked about BW and nothing then asked about AKL and she said she might have one in Jambo could I hold. Sure enough she came back and said yep she has a CL room in Jambo available. So I happily booked it.

I am so excited!!

Does anyone have any tips for getting into CL using DVC points? I'd like to stay CL for the entire trip , but would settle for a night or two at the start or end of the trip...

Keep calling and waitlist. The calling is what helped me. I can't say anything about the WL since we didn't even try didn't think we would get it.

I have heard it is easier to book a 1 bdrm than a studio. We have an AKV CL studio June 3 -18.

A couple of years ago we booked a trip at the last minute (less than 30 days) for week prior to Easter. The only 1 bdrm available was Jambo CL. We didn't care where we were staying as long as we could get a room. Worked out nice for us, but would not do it again unless it was the only thing available. I didn't really think it was worth the extra points.

Once I had friends who decided to join u's the day we were leaving and staying akv cl. I don't know how, but the only room available was an akv cl studio for the day of! I don't think I will ever be that lucky again!

That's great! I just told someone in another thread who asked about upgrading to CL at check in that it was impossible, but hey... I also said try it...you never know.
