Woody's Roundup Cookout?

If its a Toy Story Character meal we are SO there!!!!!!!!! My kids haven't seen Jessie or Bullseye yet, and we have spent 3 trips looking for them!!! This would be an amazing surprise for them. :goodvibes

The entire thing is Toy Story themed. :cool1: woo-hoo for your kids!

Well, that is so logical I'm glad Jessie and Woody are there. It makes sense. I wonder if they didn't call it "Woody's Roundup" because they don't want people to expect Woody will ALWAYS be there. :confused3

Oh wow! *If* the toy store characters are there..we are there!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the info. I only remembered a little blip on a post a long time ago so I'm just glad to have verification of another meal option- no matter the characters. I would prefer to see the Toy Story characters as you see Chip, Dale, Pluto and Goofy everywhere!

Judging by the audition postings, the entertainment should be a version of what you'd find at the Golden Horseshoe before the band took up permanent residence there.

Can you expand and tell me about the old entertainment at Golden Horseshoe

I have seen you post similar comments on threads speculating on the new Celebrate! Parade and other threads. How do you know what auditions are for what upcoming things at Disneyland?

I was just out at the parks yesterday and thought I would report on this. It seems the area is not just getting a little face lift, it looks like the picnic table area near the stage is being fully gutted! From what we could see through the fence they had digger's out and big machinery out making lots of dirt piles. The front with the animal pens and the little house used for Santa seems in tact, as of now, but that whole back area is in for a change.

The people peeking next to me were debating if they would finish in time, since it seems they have a lot of work ahead of them.

I also wanted to add, that in the path across from the fence, they had Woodie and Jessie out. They must be getting their practice! I think the reason so far they have no Toy Story Characters in the promos is because until the area is finished they have no place to take new promo shots.

And if this ends up being like Golden Horseshoe in the old days, then OMG I so want to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can find videos on Youtube to see the actual Golden Horseshoe Revue. It was a vaudville type show with a mix of singers, dancers and comedy routines. It was a amazing show and was awarded the longest running show by Guiness back in the day.

In the GH you sat at tables and you would be served food while watching the show, I mostly remember Fritos, but I know they had real food too hahahahah!

The old GH also had peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches which is what my mom insist that my brothers and I order when we went there because it was the only healthy thing on the menu for kids.

They always had a packed house with people lining up well before the next show started to make sure that they got a seat (people stayed for the whole show and when it reached capacity they would close the doors until the show was over, which happened nearly every day). Why they changed the format, I don't know. Sure what they have now probably costs less, but they're probably also making a lot less than they used to.

AmericanItGirl- It changed because the original cast all retired, they fiddled with what to do with the GH for some time before bringing in the Billies.

In the old days, my family (especially my Grandmother), would race us all back to the GC to get our day's reservation so we could see the show. If you didn't get a reservation, you had to wait in the standby line and HOPE you got in. It was so popular all the shows would be packed!

One of my favorite memories was getting brought up in the show (they always picked one kid per show), and after wards they gave me one of the huge Lollapalooza lollipops, my dog ate it and I was very sad hahaha! I got picked twice which made my sister mad because she never got chosen (hahah I did that to her on the Who wants to be a Millionare game at DCA too! :rotfl: ).

I'm right there with you! I don't even care if the food is edible! Toy Story was the first movie I took my older son to and has been my favorite since then. I even have my classroom themed in Toy Story. (For any Disney lawyers reading this: I promise I purchased licensed items. While you'd think Disney has enough money without going after teachers for using the overhead to make a picture of Buzz or Woody, I know that they do. Don't bother sending anyone to my room to check...but, if you do, send along a free day's pass to make up for interupting my lessons needlessly. :rotfl: )

I have pictures of my older son with Woody and Buzz at the Studios. For some reason, there was no CM with them, and they were in an odd area outside of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area where there weren't any other adults around either. So, no picture of me with Woody.

When we went to DLR we saw Woody repeatedly, but he was always heading in for a break. Sigh. I got both boys' pictures with Buzz. No Woody pictures that trip.

Last year we saw the Hoe-Down show or whatever they call it at MK. All the characters were there...but due to dinner ressies at WCC we had to leave, so I don't even know if they stick around for photos.

This is my goal for our trip: Find Woody and have my picture taken with him.

The BBQ sounds like the perfect way to do this!
