Woody Jesse and bullseye leaving celebration BBQ!

Just read on mouseplanet and miceage that woody Jesse and Bullseye are leaving the BBQ .
Next Wednesday it opens without them. They will be roaming the park. Also stated some speculation the $ will go down since it will no longer be a character meal. Woohoo I might eat some BBQ now

Sounds like a win/win situation to me- the prices should go down, and the Characters can meet & greet with everyone again, instead of just at the bbq area.

It makes sense. I'm not surprised. It was too expensive, and I think they made some mistakes along the way. Started off too high, then they lowered the kids price but removed the gift bag. For those prices I'd rather do Goofy's or try Minnie's & Friends...

Yay! Maybe now I can try some of that yummy sounding BBQ too! The price was definitely keeping us away and we weren't interested in meeting the characters so this sounds great to me!

I was hoping to take my boys to this in October, but hopefully we can catch the characters elsewhere. I wasn't too happy about the price point for the menu options. Maybe I use the $$ to book Fantasmic seats now.

I agree. That's how I felt too. Even though I know you can get as much as you want of the BBQ food that's there, it is a limited selection, so for that price I would much rather stick with an 'offical' character buffet and be able to get whatever I want from a much larger selection.

I think it's great that they are lowering the Celebration price. Hopefully they will lower it substantially and not just by a few bucks. Then I may try it.

And I think Woody will be back for his Halloween-Round-Up in September (though not sure how they are going to set that up with the BBQ going but we will see). Maybe they will move Woody's Halloween Round-Up elsewhere in DL or DCA?

I am looking forward to see what happened with this restaurant. I really wanted to eat there, but the price was crazy. I really hope the price goes down, or it become a non all-you-can-eat location!

Am I the only one that's dissappointed? We LOVED this meal when we went last week. Granted, we liked it so much we probably will eat there again without Woody and Jesse there. Personally we found the food quality and value to be better than that of Goofy's Kitchen. Yes, there is a limited selection, but what they do there, they do really well. We'd rather just be served something really good than choose between 30 just Ehhh foods that we had at Goofy's.

Yeah I heard about this last week. It's so sad that the characters are leaving. I loved it when Woody did his Fantasmic moves for me & when he pulled out his imaginary lighter and swayed as Tex was singing. And I will miss seeing Bullseye dance his "soft horseshoe."
Even though prices will go down, which is good bc it is expensive & I've already been there 3x & bought the pics every single time too, I'm going to miss having the characters around. Plus when you think about it, those character performers are losing their jobs in the round-up. Darn economy! They just better keep selling those cupcakes or I'm outta there!

You could do either. Since it's never packed, you can walk up & say you'd like to dine there or you can make a PS.

Had this booked for my Birthday in August. Not too many non-breakfast character meals available. Sorry Disney, will probably cancel and eat outside the park. Can have all you can eat bbq at any six flag type theme park closer to home.

all you can eat "sort off" but not buffet style. They bring items out portioned for "x" amount of guests in camp style crockery. You can get seconds or thirds LOL if you request

I am dissapointed that the characters are leaving. Eventhough it wasn't a "character meal", they show made it "Disney"> We were looking forward to eating there on our next trip but will not even consider it with no characters regardless of reducing the price

Funny how a majority of the folks complaining about the price were folks that never experienced the location for themselves.

I took 25+ folks for the DPN's Westfest to Celebration BBQ about a month after it opened and no one complained about the price... in fact, numerous people commented how much bang for the buck they got. The fact that it was all-you-care-to-eat and that the food was actually pretty good, the value was there... you just had to experience it for yourself to know that. I know that we all left stuffed and happy.

Now with the format change in entertainment and food; rumor has it that drinks and dessert (which was REALLY GOOD and very clever) will no longer be included and it might not even be all-you-care-to-eat anymore... when you add it all up it'll probably still cost the same for less. Sure it'll be "cheaper", but the value will no longer be there.

What killed the location was marketing... or lack thereof. No one knew this location was there and being at the very back of the Park, there isn't much foot traffic either.

For me what "killed" it was
1. Lack of "big draw" characters compared to other character meals.
If Mickey or Minnie or even Donald were there in cowboy garb, the value would be there.
2. Lack of food variety compared to other character meals.
3. Exclusive, private venue. The open air seating viewable to all took away from the "special" quality other character meals offer. People could stand there and gawk at you, and see the enhire "show" from the outside. LOL

I think in marketing the opinion of those you havnt reached matters too. Why havnt they tried your product? Why are we squaking about something we havnt tried? It's because we want to try it and obviosly DL is listening because what they had wasn't working.
That is why those of us who have not partaken of the BBQ; opinions matter
