We are having a debate at our house... do you paint the walls first or the woodwork first?!?
My dignity is riding on this!!!
Thanks for your input.

Happy Friday!!

I always paint from the top down. Ceiling, then the walls, then the woodwork. I’ve done this many many times, with no problems so far!

I just had a REAL painter paint my great room a couple of weeks ago. He painted the woodwork first, then cut in all the walls, then painted the walls. So I guess that's the professionals way of doing it.

Always woodwork first. Then primer and paint. If you get any high gloss paint from the woodwork on the walls after they've been painted, it's a pain to get rid of it. Easier doing the reverse.
