Hi,

We purchased a pair of wooden swords for our DS this summer at the Renaissance Festival, and he wants to wear them as part of his pirate costume next week. Are there any rules about this? Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks,

I've never been to WDW at Halloween, so I can't answer your question. I'm going to bump this back to page one for you, so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

I don't know for sure but my guess would be that wooden swords are a no-no.

I did see swords. toy guns, etc.
I didn't let my son (he was a ninja) take his, and he reminded me of it every time he saw another child with one.
I just told him that it would be hard to keep up with on the rides, etc, and he was fine with that.
If you've never been to the party before, then here is my advice... the Halloween parade at 10 pm just in front of the train station at the front of the park cannot be beat!!! We had almost the whole length of that curb to ourselves, along with a few cast members. A lot of character came over to my son and daughter because there weren't other children in that area. You can leave just after the parade, and you're in front of the stampedes that will be coming from the rear of the park!
