I just read (on thedailydisney.com) an article about the train display in the Germany Pavilion in Epcot. The author mentioned a wooden Monorail toy that is compatible with the Thomas the Tank Engine sets. I know my DS would just love this - does anyone know where this is sold (I'm thinking in the Germany pavilion?) and how much it costs? Are there any other wooden train pieces that are also available?

Thanks so much!!

I don't think Disney makes one of those (and I would LOVE to know if they do!), but my son has a train from an Imaginarium set that looks a bit like this one, only it's white -

He calls it the 'monorail' and we had to set up an elevated track for it when we got back from WDW this Dec. Imaginarium seems to make bullet style trains in several colors, but I don't see the white one anywhere. We got ours at a garage sale.

There's an old BRIO train that works.
We got it for my son (who is a Thomas nut) and call it Monorail Blue.
Thomas gets along with his new Monorail friend just fine! ;)

Thank you so much for your replies.
From the article, I thought that the author had purchased this wooden monorail at the parks somewhere (at least that's how I understood it:confused3). I guess maybe not! I'll be on the lookout for it on our upcoming trip, but if I don't find it I'll check out some of the other options that you guys told me about. Thanks again!
Oh! And I'll post if I do find it!:)

I could be wrong, but I don't even think the train set up in Germany includes any kind of monorail.
We bought the Disney Monorail and Castle set up from WDW for our kids this Christmas, and we shopped in several different places looking at the different sets available. I never saw anything wooden. It was all the plastic sets.

You know a wooden monorail set would be a great thing for them to make and sell at Walt Disney World. i know we would probably purchase at least two if they did. We get the plastic one but they break so easily.
