YAY! My boyfriend *finally* popped the question to my complete surprise on New Year's Eve Eve (December 30th)! After exactly four years and three months of dating, we are now officially engaged and planning an early December wedding with a snowflakey/Winter Wonderland theme! I am soooo excited, but some of the stress has ALREADY begun to set in. I would love any advice from anyone about anything! :rotfl:

That's me calling my parents just after it happened. It turned out they had known for like 2 weeks. ::yes::

Congratulations!! The ring is so pretty and so are you.

My advice, make sure the ceremony is what you and your fiance wants. :)

Congratulations! No advice on making plans, just have fun. Oh, wait... maybe one piece of advice, find a great photographer. Their pictures are what you will use to look back and remember the day.

Love your name, of course that may be because I have a DD named Miranda as well. ;)

Congratulations and wishes for a lifetime of happiness.

Congratulations! Beautiful ring!!!

*She had it right, she said New Year's Eve Eve, i.e. 12/30 :flower:

Yes she did, when I first read it I thought it was a typo. But now I get it, duh! :rotfl:

Congratulations! Come join us over on the Weddings and Honeymoons board, we're a friendly bunch and there are tons of great ideas and info over there!!

Oh! Yay for you! My husband and I were just married on December 10th so we did the snowflake/winter wonderland wedding too!

We had a Christmas cookie buffet and people loved that. Especially the kids!

My favors tied into the cookie/snowflake theme, I got lots of compliments on them: (long link, I know)

Our colors were mocha, hunter green, and ivory, so the ink and ribbons for the favors were hunter green. Bridesmaid dresses were mocha. The girls looked beautiful!

Don't know if you're on a budget or not, but I got my wedding invites from www.budgetweddinginvitations.com. They were terrific - classy, tasteful, and very affordable.

We also had the DJ play older, classic Christmas songs before we got to the reception - like Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong. It really got people into a festive spirit.

One more thing - our recessional was "Joy To the World." It was beautiful - cheerful and seasonal. We got a lot of compliments on that.

Congrats to you - it's a wonderful time of year to get married!

Oh!! I almost forgot (sorry, I know I'm rambling but it was only a month ago) - I made luminaries for outside the church. I got white paper bags and those metalic lace doilies. I stapled the doilies inside the paper bags and when they were lit, they looked just like snow flakes. Sooo pretty! Our ceremony started at 6pm so people were arriving at dusk and the luminaries really added to the look.

I know this was long, but of course I'm still kind of in wedding mode. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!!

ETA: I just tried that link and it doesn't take you to the favors. If you want to see them, click on "unique favors" from that page, then look on page 2 of the favors. They're the snowflake cookie cutter favors.

Awww that is so great!!! Congratulations to you both!! Enjoy your planning and your engagement! As others already said, your ring is beautiful!! :goodvibes
