Well that figures. We are making a quick trip to the world after a week long beach vacation and what do you know, our MK day is planned for June 8th…the day POTC closes. DS is the biggest pirate fan and loves that ride. Just my luck! :/

FP+ doesn't bother me too much. I'm waiting for the calendar to show it open May 11th. Still shows it closed for refurb. My FP's are already set, but I will definitely stand in line for POTC.

Because I've already planned all of my FP's for the trip, what is the standby line like usually? I don't want to rearrange my FP's, but if POTC is open when we go (end of May) I definitely want to do it!

Also, is this one that you can easily get a 4th FP for?

It is one of the rides that suffers from FP+ side affects. It can get a very long stand by line now. I always end up booking a FP for it on one of our MK days. I've never tried to get a day of one for it though so not sure about that.

You know, I was over on another site expressing that it was a pleasant surprise that PotC would be open during my upcoming Memorial Day week trip, and someone actually said they hoped the ride blew up while I was on it. Their point of view was that the ride was in such urgent need of attention that it was blasphemous to not be disappointed that the refurb schedule changed.

I'm thinking there are some folks out there who take this rehab stuff (and care and nurture of the parks) a bit too seriously.

You laugh, but I did read in Jason Surrell's "Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies" that wet benches inside the boat basically turn the entire attraction into a powder keg, one step away from creating a mushroom cloud over Adventureland. Is THAT what you want??

I heard on the DisUnplugged show yesterday that the refurb for PoTC was pushed back and will be closed from June 8 - Sept 25................seems like a long time to be down especially through the busy summer months.
