Woo-hoo! Just got a BOG lunch ADR for next month!

I've been checking multiple times a day for the last week, not really counting on getting one, but I just reserved a QS lunch for our party of 6! After my confirmation number, it said, "Place Your Order Starting July 15, 2016" So do we need to order ahead of time, or is that a convenience, if we want to save time?

It's a highly-suggested from what I understand, but as a definite time-saving convenience. Congrats!!

I've had lunch at BoG many times, and pre-ordering is definitely the way to go. After you check in with the CMs at the end of the bridge, you'll be sent down the left side of the bridge, past the line of people who haven't pre-ordered. The CM at the entrance will direct you to a cashier just inside, past a second line of people who are waiting to order at the kiosks. The cashier will ask if you need to make any changes to your order, and then you'll pay and go straight in. It almost always saves a ton of time to pre-order, and you can do it as late as the night before.

We've eaten lunch there 3X and dinner once. Will be having breakfast there next month. We do order ahead of time and it does save some time. You CAN change your mind when you show up- we've made a change just by speaking with one of the CM's when we checked in.
Just a little advice- it is pretty inside,BUT,it's noisy if it's crowded and then it starts feeling like a cafeteria instead of a castle. Soooo,if you want to sit in the main dining area,try to sit as close to the windows as possible. Watching the snow falling makes it feel more magical. If you don't mind small dark spaces with occasional flashes of lightening,then there's the west wing. When we couldn't find a window seat,we chose to sit in the Rose Room- it's calmer than the main room. You can walk around each room before you decide where to sit.

I ordered ahead of time last year for lunch and thought it saved a ton of time, compared to the year before that when we didn't. BOG lunch is delicious, enjoy!!
