Ok just put our trip on hold. With the pin code here is the deal I got: Family of 5 -staying at POR, 8 days, 7 nights 8/25-9/1....with park tickets and the dining plan our grand total is $2587.51. WOOO HOOOO!!! Can't wait to tell DH when he gets home.:banana:

SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT DEAL!!:thumbsup2

We are staying at PFQ Sept 6th for 3 nights!!!

Have a great trip!!!

I believe we can start making dining reservations now!!!!:cool1:

If you don't mind my asking, how old are your children? We're looking at the same time frame and looking into how much it would cost our family of 5.

What kind of tickets? Age of family? Insurance? Std or other view?

I am going to assume base tickets, 2 adults 3 kids between 3 to 9 years old, no insurance (however if you didnt say no insurance they probably included it), std view

Value season Mod resort - 145/night = 1142 with tax for 7 nights
Dining plan = 777 for 7 nights
base tickets for 8 days = 1006

Total = 2925

Difference of 338.

The kids will be 9, 7 and 3 when we go:)

I didn't say -no insurance, so I am assuming it was included. $338 savings is fine by me - but somehow I thought it was more than that LOL. I asked about free dining. She said keep calling back to check:)

Oh and the room at POR would be 87/ night - standard room. I'm wondering - would I get a discount on park tickets if I booked those through AAA and just kept the room and dining plan w/ Disney?

WOW! I priced out my family of 4 for POFQ same general time frame and got a quote of almost $3600. :sad1: My kids are 13 and 10. That was 7 nights, 8 days park-hop-plus waterparks, dining and insurance. Did you get a postcard or an e-mail? Or just call? I didn't book.

I got a postcard with a pin number and gave that to them when I was calling. It was weird because when she first checked - no pin showed up with my name. After I gave her the pin number then it came up? Oh and I did not include the water park option - just the hopper option.

tickets must be purchased with the room, creating a package to be eligable for the dining package. So no you cant do that.

If they did in fact include insurance then add 119 to the package price (2925) = 3044 your savings becomes
457 wich as we all would expect (since it is the only discount available other than aaa for that time period) gives you THE CODE discount of 40% off the room portion of your package

POR Value season =145
7 nights = 1015
+tax = 1142
40% = 456.80

Wow! your good LOL! Thanks for breaking that down for me:) I am very happy with that price. Not sure we would have been able to go otherwise.:)

I just saw where you said you included the hoppers...so with no insurance
Room = 1142
Dining = 777
Hopper tickets = 1220

Total rack rate package = 3139

Difference of 552 which is well over the 40% savings where the insurance matched up perfectly. You might want to double check that they included hopper but great deal if they did.

you are 4 'adults' as far as ticket pricing and Dining and WP's add about another 170 So your total ticket price cost is an extra $10 even though you have 1 less person. Dining for 7 nights also costs you an extra 314. Plus the discount card difference.

So....would that mean that if the free dining option comes out then that would be the better discount for us? Ugh I am not good with figuring these things out LOL.

free dining would save you 777 off rack rate. This deal saves you what looks to be atleast 450 off rack rate. So yes, free dining would be better. (although if you find out that you have the hoppers and insurance on your reservation for that price then it would be about even)

Beth - you were right! I called back today to double check the hopper option and they were just base tickets....not sure what happened there. When they added the hopper option for the 7 days the total came to 2805.87 (this does include insurance). Does this make sense? I called AAA to price it out and their package for the same thing came to a little over 2600? I thought w/ the 40% code I would have done better with booking through Disney?

anybody can book the 40% code for you so aaa should get the same deal for you. "a little over 2600" is very close to your original no park hopper quote and my well be the same thing + whatever fee they may charge. Some (definitely not all) aaa agents charge booking fees and/or mailing fees. aaa should not be able to do better than the 40% off but hey if they did that would be great and i'd sure take it...just be sure that they actually included all the componants.

Thanks again Beth...I didn't even mention the 40% off code to the AAA agent. I didn't realize that she could get that discount for me. Now I am totally confused LOL. I'll have to call her back tomorrow....

AAA has their own code for the 40% with the same dates etc. There was as much confusion on their part as there was for us and the pin codes. She never did say if I had a pin number in their system with my name but said my reservation was good. When I went in 4 days later to pay my deposit, she said they were making them verify persons identity now for new bookings only. Anyway the point is they have a code that works the same and they also call disney to make your reservation and can do the same asking if you have a pin that you can so even though you didnt mention the 40%, a helpful rep would check it out for you even if you dont ask about it.
