I am booking Alaska. $716 for our family of 4 into Long Beach.

Good Luck Everyone!

I would love to know how that works. 4 of us from Sacramento to the LA area on Alaska would be over 2,000...

I would take a look at Travelocity.com

I did, and came back with about $145. per person roundtrip.

What dates are you looking for?

Sorry, that was United in Nov.
Alaska is higher, but still could find tons of $183-$210 or so.

Again, depends on when. Holiday travel is the pits!

Try Southwest. Alaska isnt the best for flying around in California.

that is great! i just looked at april '09 dates on alaska from seattle to santa ana...almost $1,200 for 3 of us! yikes! it's showing $927 to LAX...and $1,100 to long beach! i am hoping to celebrate dd's 3rd birthday at DL...we'll see...

how long is the bus/shuttle/cab ride from Long Beach to Anaheim? i don't think the disneyland resort express bus goes to Long Beach, right?

Check Jet Blue and such when they put their fares out. Usually you can get them 79 each way.

Long Beach is about the same as Orange County in distance and you have to utilize a shuttle service, rent a car, take a limo or grab a cab. There have been a few threads on this and I am in the midst of reviewing those, once I find them again. I would love to do a Limo one time. We will have 9 of us flying in at the same time, as of right now, so a Limo may make sense.

OH, and our price was $79. each way.

yeah, i just mapquest-ed it and it shows that SNA is about 17 minutes away (13 miles) from DL....and that Long Beach is 26 minutes away (19 miles) from DL. so about 9 minutes farther out...which i could live with, but i'd be travelling with a toddler and an infant...so at this point, i think LAX and SNA would be my better choice because of transporation to/from Long beach to DL (the disneyland express bus does not go to long beach :( ). and like you, i was just about do to a search on transporation to/from Long Beach. i'll definitely keep this as on option for when my DDs are older though!

We are probably getting our tickets for our next trip through jetblue. I am just hoping to be able to get the $79 one way price the best I can do right now is $119.

Check the mapquest route; they usually take you on a roundabout way up to the freeway and back down. As the crow flies, LGB is supposed to be 14 miles and SNA 12 miles. I've read that LGB is actually very easy to drive to DL, because it's almost a straight shot all the way down Katella. And car rental is very easy from LGB; the rentals are right there at the terminal.

LBG is generally quite a bit cheaper than SNA; like $100 more a ticket from Seattle. Wow, the JetBlue fares have been great! And Alaska is trying to match them, but I think JetBlue has more flights.

Taxis are flat rate $40 to the DL hotels from both airports, and usually $50-55 on the way back, unless you can get a coupon from your hotel for the flat rate.

Super Shuttle is quite a bit more expensive from LGB than from SNA. SNA, it's $10 per person each way. LGB, it's $35 for the first person, and $9 each additonal person. There's a coupon for $2. per person, each way; it's the last coupon on the list here: http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp

We took a limo for a fun splurge from SNA to GCH last March. Although it was fun and I'd do it again, I would call the hotel and ask for limo recommendations. Ours had some issues, including no seatbelts on the jump seat, not as nice a car as they'd told us we'd get, and a rather clueless chauffer on the return trip. (don't use Starz Limo!) We were quoted $90, but it was more than that and they were fuzzy or misleading on the tipping practices. It ended up being more like $150 with tip.

Hope that helps!:goodvibes

Thank you for posting this! We are going to jump on those fares, too. $79/each way/per person is about as good as we can expect to get. I do hate booking airfare though, it feels so final...and it means I have to follow through on all our other plans (cruise plus 3 days in DL). And it means that wherever I end up working next year had better be okay with me starting out with a 1.5 week vacation:scared: .

I'm trying to get good fairs from Seattle, too. But for April so I'm hoping that as we get closer they will get marked down also. $79 each way is pretty much as good as it every gets IME.

i know what you mean...i was originally looking to celebrate dd's 3rd bday at DL next may...but i wanted to take advantage of the "everyone pays kids price" between jan '09 and april '09. so i was thinking of going back to DL late aprill. but we'd probably fly into SNA or LAX because the disneyland express bus does not go to long beach.

There is a shuttle service by transtar (I think that is the name, it's linked too on the ground transportation page for LGB) that is quite a bit cheaper than super shuttle.

i'll definitely have to look into this and other shuttles. i don't want to have to lug 2 car seats if they are required in the shuttle. that's why we're using the DL express bus this time around from SNA in october!

We use the DL express and SNA or LAX for the exact same reason. Next month hubby and I are flying into LGB for our romantic getaway though. We won't have to worry about carseats!:cool1:

I just want to say that for those who can fly into LB and don't have little ones, DO IT! It is such an awesome little airport! DD lives near it and we have all flown out of there whenever possible. You literally can walk off the plane, grab your luggage and be out of there in 15 minutes. A very small airport with very big service. No traffic, no hassles. Super easy in and out, honestly. If you have been there you know what I mean.;) The drive to DL is so easy, DD does it five days a week!

I was THRILLED to find $79 tickets for our trip in December. We have to leave two days earlier (oh darn!) and we're flying into Long Beach, which we've never done.

Now, if we could only find $79 each way to Hawaii for spring break...I'm guessing that's not going to happen!

 if you ever find $79 each way to Hawaii, you definitely need to let me know! we try to head back home (Oahu) at least once a year. we're heading back there next january to celebrate dd#2's 1st birthday. can't wait!
