Sorry, no one else but you guys would understand my joy!

I took the one year loan option last year on a 280 SSR point add-on so I could get the 4% financing. What a LONG, LONG year it has been! But now that the loan is paid in full, I feel I've given myself a huge raise.

Woo Hoo!!!!

I think this was our last add-on as 500 points seems to be a good number. I won't know what to do each month when I only see the monthly maintenance fees drafted from my bank account. Ok, I do know...I'll probably find the need for just a few more points... Its an addiction, I know.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement!

Well done you, I feel excited for you!!!

but do I understand it right that you paid over 2000$ a month?

Whoo Hoo for you!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Wish I was in your shoes!

We just got our documents yesterday. We begin paying in October!

Have fun using those 500 points! I couldn't convince my husband that 150 just wasn't enough. :)

Wish I could say the same about my SSR contract- I didn't finance it just put it on a CC to get the reward points. Now I transfer the balance whenever a 0% -$0 transfer comes my way - Have to start looking for another one since this one runs out in Sept. Even a $50-$75 fee would be okay. It has still been much less expensive than paying interest to Disney even if I could have deducted it. The problem doing it this way is I haven't been motivated to pay as much on it as I probably should each month. My new motivation is that next month I will be 62 and would very much like to retire but can't even think about it until SSR is paid off since we still have major mortgage payments and the taxes here are out of sight. Congratulations on your accomplishment. May you have many happy trips.

We made a down payment, but yes, our payment was $1500 a month.

Like I said, its like getting a BIG RAISE!!!!! I really had to budget carefully over the past year!

Just an FYI...You may want to keep in mind that each time you do a transfer to a NEW card a credit report is pulled on you. This can negatively impact your credit if you don't cancel the unused cards. Too much credit is as bad as too little credit. :o

Hi,

Congrats.

I borrowed from my 401K to pay for my DVC, for 4 years and pay myself 4.5% interest. I still have 3 years to go.

this is only true if you are applying for New cards each time as opposed to just moving the balances around on your existing cards...just wanted to clarify... ;)
ps...absolutely do not close unused cards, especially if you have had them a long time. This will hurt your credit score. I know its always been said to close them but now its the opposite. the longer you have your card history and the more available credit/lower balances raise your scores a LOT !!
