Hey all! I've been lurking for a few months, but I registered a few days ago and this is my first post!

Anyways, I order a new planning video every year (besides it's helpfulness, I like to watch it to reminisce).

So, I got my DVD the other day, but I got a brochure in the mail today that said "Come make your Disney vacation dreams come true, ______ family!"

Inside, it said it was a little something while our DVD was on the way (even though we had received it a few days before) and gave us 30% off!

So, we booked a six-night stay at the GF (our resort of choice) with the deluxe dining and four-day park passes for just under $4000.

I had registered for the DVD a few weeks ago, so it was pretty quick turn around!

Anyways, I look forward to posting with everyone!

Any way you would consider changing your dates?

It looks as though they excluded:
- Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, even Election Day
- Spring-- cheerleading competitions, Grad nights...
- Much of summer. We're luck enough that our schools open much later than they do in some other parts of the country.

Realistically, they didn't offer during the times when they KNOW people will come anyway.

Do you mean you got 30% off not just the room, but off tickets and could have had 30% off the basic DP? That would be incredible!

Also, there were NO Spring dates included in the deal?

The 40% off card includes the following dates:
Jan 6-17 & Jan 20-31
Feb 24-March 5
March 30-April 8
Agu 10- Sept 27
Act 19- Nov1
Nov 9- Nov 15
Dec 7-Dec 17

So it leaves out Mardi Gras, Easter, Passover, pretty much everything but Halloween and All Saints Day.

Nope...this is the first year we've had to deal w/school vacations... Normally we'd be there over sept and march dates. My son really enjoys school and he's been pulled out earlier in the year for a trip w/my parents, so I don't want to pull him out again (well other than for the 1.5 days we're taking him out for).

It's funny, because my code has my maiden name..I've been married since 99. And I believe my hubby booked the trip we took when we were engaged and that was many years ago. Only way I can think I got it was from my stock...that I got when I worked for Disney. I believe that's still in my maiden name....I think.

Were there blackout dates on this one?? Hubby ordered a video like a week ago, so I'm waiting for it to come..maybe we'll get this one.

How long does it take to get the dvd. I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten it yet. I shtere any way I can get on the status of the dvd?

I'll try to hit on all the questions in one post...

I don't know if they could have applied it to the regular dining plan. The CM said that he couldn't apply the discount to the DxDDP, so I don't know if it can only be applied to the DxDDP or if it doesn't apply at all. We were set on getting the DxDDP so we didn't ask.

30% off of room AND tickets. We did single-day tickets because we don't plan on doing any hopping, but I assume it would have applied to that, as well.

Our card wasn't a card...it was almost like a brochure. And it had different block out dates:
1/6-2/2
2/24-3/1
3/30-4/12
8/10-9/27
10/19-11/1
11/9-11/15
12/7-12/13

I don't remember when I ordered the DVD...I know it was after New Years (because I wanted to make sure I'd get the 2008 DVD) and I got it on Wednesday, I think. I got the discount PIN today, but it said it was a gift as I waited for my DVD.

And if you have a different name than on the card, the PIN *is* name specific and they have to correct it in the system before you can book a trip. I ordered my DVD under a common misspelling of my last name because it says one-per-household and I had the 2007 one and I really wanted it and before we could even get a quote, the CM had to go into the system and correct my name and information.

The only rooms in the deluxe resorts blocked out for the discount were in the AK and the GF. We wanted the GF from the get-go, so it worked well for us, but don't assume that because there are rooms listed on the site at certain resorts that they're available with the discount code.
