Woo-Hoo! 2009 Planner Arrives, Finally!!

Central NJ - we got ours today.

DH brought the mail in today and thought it was funny to leave all the bills and junk mail for me to go through but not tell me about the book.

After I was home for about a half hour he says "oh, we got a present today" (he knows I love any mail from Disney) and hands me the book.

He thought it was hysterical that he kept it from me.

I have only glanced at it, seems like previous ones, but with new pictures.
But I still love having something Disney and new to look through.

If Dh had done that...he would be sleeping on the couch.

A three ring binder would have been great. I wish they would use it again as well. I look forward to the planner, mainly as a keepsake, but I agree that it should have been for 2010 as it would have been something a bit more exciting too. I already have my Feb 2010 trip booked and planned so a "Planner" with points charts isn't really going to hekp me out in any way. Now if they do this because it is a perk to DVC Members to get a pretty book with charts, maybe something more of a planner would be useful with a place to store our ressies, ADRS, Week long trip info, whatnot.

I'd be just as happy with a cool notepad that said DVC on it or something (something a little more useful) but I just like getting "cool stuff" from DVC.

It's funny, but I'm thinking exactly the same things! In fact, I also have a trip booked for the end of Jan into early Feb.!!! I'm curious about the pictures and hope (but doubt) there will be real pictures of the finished parts of the new resorts (BLT, THV, VGC, and AKV) not just a bunch of artist renderings! I'll know soon enough. A freebie that is more useful could be really cool, I like your reservation storage suggestion for example. Back to the 3 ring [though it was before my time]!!!

The book is mostly 2009 info and there is an insert that shows the 2010 charts.

I'm in the why bother camp. Why not just wait a couple more months and send out the 2010 planner early? They are expensive to produce and mail and DVC is being wasteful of our money at this late date.

We were at Welcome Home Wednesday the 1 st week of May and they had a
great booklet of just the 2009 point charts do they also print these each year?

Awwww man. I was so excited I ran up and got the mail. And nothing! No planner. Man, I would have set on the couch for an hour reading that thing.

Apparently all of NY didn't get theirs today.

Just got ours today in Central NJ. Kinda disappointed to open it and see 2009 points and a small insert in the back for 2010. Kinda silly to print an 09 book that comes out in the middle of the year. I guess the change in points is why its not an 09-10 book

It was SO much easier for them to send out replacement pages than to send whole new books. I would be MUCH happier with that again. This not only is less efficient, but obviously more costly to us as well.

I totally agree. And obviously they can not get the books out on time, I mean good grief it is almost June and most don't have them, myself included.

That system was not broke I have no idea why they had to change it.
