Woo-Hoo! 2009 Planner Arrives, Finally!!

Nothing in Texas today. :sad1: And our mail is on hold for the next week and a half as we leave today. Okay, so we'll be at Disneyland and happy! But still, I'll be anxious to get my hands on our mail when we return.

It is quite ridiculous that we must plan our trips so far in advance to take best advantage of DVC and our 2009 planners come when we are most planning for 2010. These are expensive to produce and we are paying for them. I really liked getting them at first, but I may thumb through it to look at the pretty pictures and then push it aside. I truly don't use it for planning, do you?

I'm not even looking forward to it anymore! Frankly, I wish they would go back to the insert pages for the original ring binder. It was SO much easier for them to send out replacement pages than to send whole new books. I would be MUCH happier with that again. This not only is less efficient, but obviously more costly to us as well.

I'm in the why bother camp. Why not just wait a couple more months and send out the 2010 planner early? They are expensive to produce and mail and DVC is being wasteful of our money at this late date.

Actually, I don't think there will be a 2010 planner. They usually come out every other year.

I didn't realize that. I had a few so thought they came every year.

OK then, instead of a 2009-2010 planner, how about produce a 2009-2011 planner?

This was before my time but I think it is a great idea.

YEAH!!!! Bring back the 3 ring binder!!!

Nothing in Maryland yet, but then I'm still waiting for the last planner!

I also wish they would go back to the three ring binder. It was so easy to replace the pages as they came in.

Way down in this part of Texas, we're always the last to get anything from DVC, it seems. Don't know if it's a whole Texas thing that we're last.

A three ring binder would have been great. I wish they would use it again as well. I look forward to the planner, mainly as a keepsake, but I agree that it should have been for 2010 as it would have been something a bit more exciting too. I already have my Feb 2010 trip booked and planned so a "Planner" with points charts isn't really going to hekp me out in any way. Now if they do this because it is a perk to DVC Members to get a pretty book with charts, maybe something more of a planner would be useful with a place to store our ressies, ADRS, Week long trip info, whatnot.

I'd be just as happy with a cool notepad that said DVC on it or something (something a little more useful) but I just like getting "cool stuff" from DVC.

Another South Jerseyan here...and no planner today. Personally, I would rather have a 2010 planner since I'm already booked for 2009; well, I also have my 2010 trip planned too, just waiting for seven month booking date.
I do love to look at the pictures in the planners though.

No planner here in upstate NY. It feels like such a big waste to send the planners out at this late date!

Central NJ - we got ours today.

DH brought the mail in today and thought it was funny to leave all the bills and junk mail for me to go through but not tell me about the book.

After I was home for about a half hour he says "oh, we got a present today" (he knows I love any mail from Disney) and hands me the book.

He thought it was hysterical that he kept it from me.:scared:

I have only glanced at it, seems like previous ones, but with new pictures.
But I still love having something Disney and new to look through.

Northwestern Ohio reporting in here....nothing, darn it!!! Guess I will have to keep a real close eye on the mail for the next few days...love the anticipation. I absolutely LOVE looking at and reading the planner every year. I do think from a cost perspective going back to the binder is not a bad idea but maybe more of a management nightmare.

Me and the mailman are going to be real close these next few days...;)
