I'm a friendly person but ..... I cannot even make it through my dailys without 10 people showing up on my friend list. Why does this happen, why do they want to be friends with someone they have never even talked to? Is there a prize or something for the person with the most friends :confused3

I think I must have a sign attached to me that says ask me to trade :rotfl:
as I can't step one foot in a room without someone asking to trade. How do you wade through all this?

Well, to keep people from sending me trade requests, I turn off the trade option.

As for those sending friend requests, if it's someone I don't know, I just refuse the request and say that my friend's list is full. Which it pretty much is. :)

I didn't know there was a trade option. How do I get it? :thumbsup2

Click the button at the bottom right that looks like it has bars on it. It has your sound options as well as the trade option.

i get lots of friend requests too but I started accepting one a week or so. If i have no extra contact after a week or so I delete but I can say I have met some rather nice people. I am not a kid and my list is probably more than half kids but thats ok. Its all about the fun I am having and meeting people and play some pretty decent pirate games with the pirates. ;-)

You must just be lava like me :)

definitely turn the trade option off ;)

Seems like you get at least one friend request per dark ride. I have no idea why these want to be friends, as I usually am looking at a different window while riding, so we haven't talked. :surfweb: The requester is usually long gone when I see the request, so I just click ignore.

I accept all friend requests - no reason not to, that I can see - most are from kids and some quests require that you make a new friend to proceed. At this point my list is getting full though. I do weed out friends that have not been on for a long time. I have met some very nice people just by accepting random friend requests! When you are new, you often need a friend or two just to ask those pesky questions of.

Most of the random friend requests I get appear to be from kids. I think they send requests just to build a big friend list. Might be a status thing to them. If I'm doing a quest that requires me to find a friend, I'll click accept to any request I currently have.

The last random request I accepted came from a girl. She really was sweet, and we sent hello messages back and forth for a while. Then she started repeatedly inviting me to falling chairs games. Each time I respectfully answered that I don't play falling chairs. Well, this "sweet" girl turned "sour" really fast, calling me mean (among other things), and said "you always tell me that!" She got deleted.

Anyway, it can be fun to accept a few random friend requests. A few have become friends that I talk to often. But as Forrest Gump said, life is like a box of chocolates--you never know what you'll get. :rotfl2:

Hi,

I deal with daily requests also. But i have noticed there is a direct link between what you are wearing for clothes and pins and how many requests you get. If i put on my Princess Minnie hat and walk around in public areas my friend requests triple. Some of those do not want to be my friend but rather want to be able to find me later to see if i will trade my hat (i turn off requests). There are several items that cause a direct increase in friend requests.

Being a community leader as is slinkyman creates huge requests. He has up to 150 requests per day if it is a day he has 1 of his rooms open. He has found a polite way to handle the question when asked. He now tells people " VMK limits the amount of people we can have on our friend's list and I have reached that limit, sorry" He says this takes the reason he can not add off of him and moves the reason to being a VMK reason.

I wish our lists were larger. My list has been full forever and makes it difficult when i want to add a new person. When we need to add someone fast Ink or I will delete each other then go through our lists later to see who hasn't been on and then add each other back. Works out for us.

I also have the same problem. What I don't understand is how can someone just appear on your friends list without you accepting them? :confused3 I have had my turn off button off since it came (unless trading) I will do it for someone who is doing a quest and needs a friend..

I agree...that alot of what you are wearing also makes more friends request...like if I am wearing any parts or all of sparrow or Princess hat ..oh yea I get triple more. Along with all those requests for friends comes trades too. :rotfl:

But yes the turn off button difinitly helps control the amount of request. And I also wish we could get a bigger friends list!

Well, I know that I have run into DIS people (grumpy_guy being one) on the dark rides and since you never know if they're going to be in the next room with you or not, I just click "Ask to be friend" really fast because I want to have DIS peeps on my friends list.

I saw Laurabearz in a ride the other day but I didn't click on her fast enough and she disappeared. :( But I got grumpy_guy that day. :)

I have had a lot of friend requests on rides too... AND I have had a lot of Hi Bears! From titles I dont recogise!! rofl

And as a note.. I have big time lag in rides, and often can't get something typed in before I hit the next room, and then as we all know it is a crap shoot as to wether we end up together in the next ride room lol

NarniaPrincess, sorry you were not able to click fast enough. :-(

That happens to me quite often too and its not like I have a fancy, expensive guest room or ultra-rare pins to trade!

I'd just click ignore the trades or turn the option off. You can just ignore the friend requests too, but there may be a way to turn those off, I'm not sure.
