Wonder's Panama Canal Repo 2011 - AND WE'RE NOT BRINGING IT BACK!

Hello everyone...

Any new rumors about this cruise?

Are we still thinking that we will be able to book in Oct or Nov 2009?

What is the best way to make sure that I get in on the first tier of pricing on the first day of booking? Any suggestions?

Now that would be exciting!!! The way this year's seems to be on fast forward, booking time could be with us before we know it!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I guess the best way to secure 1st tier pricing is to cover all the options - have a request in with a TA, fax a request to IC and get online when booking opens... Of course, the downside of pursuing all the options is that it pushes up the prices for others... It's a dilemma, I know - I had a request in with my TA for the 1st Baltic cruise but when I didn't hear from her, I became nervous and ended up online making my own booking...

My TA gets blocks of rooms for all special sailings like that. They have a list of names and they put a room on hold but for no more than 24 hours. They specalize in Disney vacations, so they are super awesome! I had it all set for the last Panama, but couldn't go... I am already planning ahead for the next one!

Just checking in to see if there is any new news about this cruise.

Doesn't appear to be the case and I have nothing else to add about it. Just know we are seriously considering this cruise at this time. Cost will be the only determining factor.

Who are you & knock it off... cost my butt.. you're going... at least the girls in your family are... :woohoo:

Oh, you guys definitely need to go! I never got the chance to meet you all, so you need to be there! :thumbsup2

I sent an email off to DU last week asking to put us on the list for this cruise, and also the maiden voyage out of Port Canaveral of the new ship, but haven't heard anything. Have any of you who have asked DU received a reply, or do I just take it that they have noted my request? I don't really want to nag them for something like this really.

Marilyn

I received a waitlist confirmation from DU within a few hours BUT I was also asking them a question about our September Tortola cruise (they are my TA for that trip).

However from reading between the lines, I don't think that DU have one big wait list. I think that each individual TA within DU is keeping their own list.

Thanks Kay. I thought it was strange not to receive a reply of some sort.

I sent a message about the Sept cruise some time ago to Kelsie and she didn't reply and when I sent another she said just to send to the reservations email in future, which I did this time. Can't win!!!! Never had a problem before that - just wondered if this request is so far down in priority.

Will give it a week or so then. Plenty of time I guess!!

Definitely strange. Kelsie is our agent too!

I would guess that DU would book a large block of rooms on the sailing anyway and that is what they would offer to their waitlist people.

Hi Marilyn. I can only echo everything Kay says - Tracy is my DU TA and I emailed her about this cruise as soon as I came across the thread. She replied the same day and confirmed she would put me on her waitlist...

I have to say, it's very nice to see so many familiar names on tis thread... :thumbsup2 :grouphug: :goodvibes

Marla at DU told me she would add me to her list. I'm on there to get a quote as soon as one is available. Maybe Kelsie has something going on because she should have answered you and not directed you to reservations. Maybe you want to try writing to Marla?

I hiope we all get to go, though no doubt a lot will change before the cruise.

Just checking in to se if anything new has come up....I did ask a Disney rep when I called about another client's cruise last week...they say they don't know when it will cruise or when it will go on sale. :(

I was hoping someone here had the answer...we are hoping to go on the cruise!

Hey -I didn't even know this thread existed! Just happened across it. :)

We've been waistlisted for this cruise- and like others said it depends on cost but we've found in the past that the longer cruises (during school months especially) tend to be very economical when considering per day/pp cost. So I'm hoping it will be the same with this cruise! We went on the PC repo last Sept and we enjoyed it... well I think we'd enjoy ANY long cruise with Disney. ;)
and we enjoyed DL before our last cruise- more than I thought we would (compared to our WDW trips I mean). Honestly we never want to do wdw AFTER our cruises- we'd prefer to either do WDW before the cruise or not at all (just the cruise) if we can't get it in before the cruise... but for some reason with DL if we can manage to -we'll probably go to DL after the cruise. I might have to do DL alone with the kids again though.. if DH can't take that much time off from work. (last time I went a week early with the kids to do DL with them that week... DH joined us the day before the cruise and went to DL with us just that one day then we all went on the cruise ofcourse). So I did it before- I can do it again! (it is easier staying offsite at DL- just a walk across the street practically LOL and the 2 parks and DTD being right next to one another was a plus as well!)

Oh and btw our TA put us on DCL's waitlist- we didn't do it directly ourselves (and our TA is not DU)

Woohoo Karen.:yay:
Hey... from your sig line I gather we missed you on the PC cruise (we took the ship back in Sept though!) but that we'll be on the TA together... and we may end up on THIS cruise together too. Cool! :)
