I have heard from some places that this is open seasonally and from other places that it is closed. What is the truth? I hope that they will keep Cranium Command somewhere in WDW, because it is one of my favorites!!! It has not been open the last three times I went to WDW.

Unfortunately, I think we have seen the last of the Wonders Of Life pavilion. It really is a shame because I really enjoyed Cranium Command and Body Wars. But I can see Disney's side of it. Both Cranium Command and Body Wars (the two biggest attractions in the pavilion) are both pretty outdated. Just look at the "stars" of both of these attractions. When was the last time that they were topical? 1985?

I remember taking my children to Cranium Command when they were young and there was quite a bit in it that went over their head. Now that they are a bit older, they get more out of it.

I've been wondering the same- it's been closed my last few visits as well. I even enjoyed that making of me movie! I agree it could be updated and maybe they can come up with some cool new theme or attraction.

anyone heard rumors on its future? as far as a new pavilion or attractions?

I hope they do something entirely new. We never liked the Wonders of Life.

old pavilion.. no sponsor (I believe) = mothballed until they figure what to do with the location

It's closed! I DO hope it's because they plan to reintroduce it, better than ever...

I think te Wonders of Life is an important part of the EPCOT experience. It's one of the things that makes EPCOT so Special :teeth:

I do agree that it was outdated but I think we need another pavillion dedicated to human life and all that stuff

There was a lot of discussion on several threads a month or two ago about whether "Wonders of Life" and its attractions, "Cranium Command", "Making of Me" and "Body Wars" were gone forever or just "resting" until needed ("Closed Seasonally").

Back then, the official WDW website had the most CONFUSING listing that said:
* Cranium Command: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]
* The Making of Me: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]

That led many (most) readers to believe that it meant that these attractions would be OPEN from (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

The contrary was true.
It actually meant that these attractions would "remain CLOSED" (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

But it was confusing BIG-TIME (and caused a lot of discussion between the posters as to its meaning).

WELL...
The Disney folks have "fixed" this confusing listing.

I copied the following (month-by-month) from the WDW Calendar Epcot site:

So, it looks like these attractions will not EVER re-open (considering that they are not open at all during the Summer... not even around or on July 4th, one of THE busiest times at WDW).

Sad to say that, as I really loved these attractions, but at least the listings are no longer ambiguous.
I just wonder WHY they bother to specifically list them AT ALL??

As to Body Wars, the rumor is that it is no longer even "in the building" as the ride system was supposedly shipped to another non-US Disney park for use as a "Star Tours" attraction at that park.

BTW, "Making of Me" (the WoL film starring Martin Short) was created by Glenn Gordon Caron.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0139111/

Mr. Caron was the creator/producer in the 1980's of the phenomenal ABC comedy "Moonlighting" (starring Cybill Shepherd & Bruce Willis) and Mr. Caron now has again scored high with the NBC smash-hit drama "Medium" (starring Patricia Arquette).
Mr. Caron is a master of filming "natural human comedy" scenes (the "family scenes" in Medium are VERY good) and likewise, "Making of Me" was a small masterpiece.

If they are never going to re-open the attraction, I hope Disney releases the film for sale as a DVD.

Making of Me was great....I took my son to it when he was three...that's the last time Wonders Of Life was open. We enjoyed the pavilion. He liked using the fun sports equipment (the pedal bikes) and the part where you could trick your senses. Cranium Command is still hilarious to me! I wish it was still there!

i was down in dec and my family rode body wars the cm said that they where the last to ride it that they where closeing for something new

The last time I got to watch both was April of 2004, I was 7 months pregnant and loves the Making of Me, it was the first time I'd seen it. My hubby was in line at Test Track. :)

I'll miss all the attractions there, they were some of my favorites.

I had always skipped over Cranium Command because I thought it would be something kiddie and silly. A few years back we had some time to kill and decided what the heck let's go and see it. It was the best attraction we saw that day. I was in stitches! This was well before my son was born, and I was looking forward to taking him on our next trip there in Sept. But, I guess it's not to be. :(

I do hope they keep CC. Maybe they could transplant it into the Imagination pavilion or something. Who knows what the disney folks will end up doing. My haunch is, we've probably seen the last of it.

The Wonders of Life pavilion is not even listed on the Epcot maps anymore.
