Wonder's EBPC 9/12/14 Who's Going With Us!

My husband and I are retired and enjoying the "Golden Years" that you hear about We're young at heart, though, and love Disney. While we were accompanied by our children and grandchildren on our first Disney cruise, the next three we're flying solo. I wonder how many more are in the same category as us. We'd love to be able to arrange to sit at table with other Golden Agers when we set sail on the EBPC cruise.

Hi Karen! I'm Olive and my husband is Bob. We are semi-retired and would love to join your table if there is enough room. We have the early seating.

I don't know how to do a spreadsheet, but would be glad to keep a list of people who want to get together with others from this group to sit together. I'll keep a list for each dinner sitting. If anybody wants to be on the list, just let me know with a post, or with a private message and I'll add you. I'm not sure how we would make the seating requests to DCL, but there's plenty of time to figure that out.

So far there are four couples:
Karen and Ed - early seating
Betty and Armando - early seating
Donna and David - early seating
Olive and Bob - early seating

If you have children on the cruise and want to sit with another family with children please give the ages and I'll try to match you up with other families with children of similar ages. if someone else has a better idea how to do this, I won't be offended if you tell me! It would be preferable if people could add their own information into some kind of a database, if someone knows how to set that up.

LOL.... Hey isn't 60 the new 40? Maybe all of us who would like to find tablemates should friend each other, and when when we get close to the cruise date.... when we're making final payments..... we could request to be seated with each other. If there are too many to sit at one table, we could split into several groups. There might be some who prefer early dining and others who want the second seating.

It does seem that this cruise could have a high percentage of adults, given the time of year, and its length.

How far up in Maine do you live? We have a beach house in Salisbury, MA. Maybe it would be fun to meet up before the cruise.

Wow.... I was very close to Salisbury on Mother's Day. We had dinner at Not Your Average Joe's in Newburyport. It was great.... beautiful day.... we strolled around town a bit after we ate. We were at my daughter's house in Wells, ME for the weekend, so it was a short jaunt down to Newburyport. I grew up in Acton, MA.

We live north of the Bar Harbor area... probably about a 5-hour drive north of you. Do you ever get up to Bar Harbor at all? From our back deck we look at Cadillac Mt. in Acadia National Park.

We were at my daughter's house in Wells, ME for the weekend, so it was a short jaunt down to Newburyport. I grew up in Acton, MA.

That would be great We do get down to my daughter's fairly frequently, so it wouldn't be hard to plan to meet sometime it's convenient when we're in that area anyway.

If 60 is the new 40, then being 32 am I still in my teens? I feel like that sometimes. I think my group maybe the youngest group going. Leannda and I are in our 30s, and our friend Em is in her mid 20s.

Heads up guys! As of right now it looks like :::counts on toes:::: 6? 7 (?) staff members (CNAs and RNs) from my hospital/where I work are all going on this boat/trip. We'll be in Caribbean blue or navy blue saying things like "OMG I saw the coolest thing!!!!!!" and it will be something gross. I am kinda' worried that my boss may plotz herself when she realizes we are all going (the aides work NOCs and the RNs are dayshifters so it shouldn't really be and issue. But still.).

DW tells me I may be in my 60's but I act like I am going on 12!!!!

Maybe we will rate the BIG table in the middle of the dining room!!!

Good for you! I applaud those who homeschool their kids. If I was raising mine today I would opt to do the same.

I learned long ago to watch my conversation around the dinner table. My family is used to it but when I'm public I can go from 0 to Gross on 1.2 seconds. Just don't ask me about my job and things go well. But I figure that if you ask then you're prepared for the answer.

I always think it's funny when people mention a medication and they're like "it's for ______" and I'm thinking "no, no it's not." Last cruise somehow the patriarch of the family we were sitting with and I got into a talk about meds (I mentioned my sleeping pill/antidepressant with my sleep problems.). The guy was like "I take cialis for my back pain." His family doesn't blink an eye. His kid doesn't get red in the face or even squirm. I was like "I would've killed my dad if he said that." My family walked out of the dinning room after dinner and my mom was like "I nearly killed you for being TMI with the antidepressant, until ____ mentioned cialis." My uncle was like "that's not for back pain?"

I've been on Pinterest looking for FE gift ideas. That and sister's wedding stuff.
