WONDERous adventures on the Panama Canal - 4/23/17

Hello, just wanted to say hi to everyone. This will be our 6th DCL cruise but first on the Wonder. I am MIL to busdriverbrad. We have been waiting to take this cruise since 2012. Looking forward to a fun trip.
:welcome: I am happy this thread is so active as my one for November is dead. I guess some people are just not that excited to cruise. I can't wait for 2 weeks onboard, I just hope I have enough time for all the activities that sound fun:rotfl:

Totally looking forward to may the forth ice cream social and private mixology info :) magnet exchange and roaming mickey could be fun too. How much is the private embarkation party usually? Just curious. I'm so excited there sounds like so many group things happen on longer cruises :)

The embarkation day meet will be free, however if you are referring to the open bar, that is $13.25 for drinkers, $10.75 for non-drinkers

I didn't realize that the group would have so many fun things to get involved in. This is awesome. Just realized that on cinco de mayo we will be in cabo. Can't wait.

Welcome Brad and Brad's MIL. This is a great group, looking forward to meeting everyone :)

Private Mixology Sign-Up

This is the initial sign-up info for private mixology classes (over 21s only please). If you wish to take part in a private mixology session, please feel free to either post and indicate your interest or pm me.

The mixology sessions prove pretty popular and we already have around 80 people interested so I have requested 4 sessions with around 20-25 people per session. We will have firm details on dates and times around 30 days prior to the cruise and, at that point, I will be requesting full names of those attending and stateroom numbers (or reservation numbers if you have a GTY stateroom booked). I will also provide details of the cost, time and place of each session. As we get closer, I will be allocating people on the list to sessions. If you would prefer to be in a session with other people on the list please say so and if you would prefer to avoid a particular date or time, again please say so. All sessions will be held on 'at sea' days and will be in the afternoon. I have requested 2pm for each session, but they have been held as late as 4pm previously so if you would prefer not to be on a later session, due to dining times, then please say so. I will do my very best to accommodate everybody's preferences.

Roaming Mickey is a magnet - you put it on the doors of the people on the list, it gets passed from door to door and people write messages on it. When you get it back it has all the messages on and is a nice memento of the cruise.

I will post the time for the formal night picture, once it has been agreed.

@BartmanLA (Barton) is planning to organise the group Palo brunch.

Again, myself or Molli will post the info for the May the Fourth ice-cream social and exchange.

Thanks for the info!

My future husband and I are very interested in mixology

The open bar sounds fun too, can't wait to get closer to solidify plans!

I'll make sure I count you in :)

Hello everyone. I just booked this cruise (after a long and difficult fight with the DCL website). It will be myself (Robin), my husband (Rick) and my mother (Joyce)

We were supposed to be going on the Westbound Panama Canal cruise that is leaving this weekend but cancelled that in favour of a different vacation and now we've decided to book for next year.

This will be our 17th Disney Cruise and we have done the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise in 2014. That was a great cruise even though we didn't see dry land for 9 days because of all the hurricanes and tropical storms.

I booked us in to a sideways cabin on Deck 6. We've done sideways cabins before and quite enjoyed the perceived extra spaciousness of them.

Looking forward to hanging out here to help pass the time, although I have been lurking for the past week :magnify:

:welcome: Robin, we are also in a deck 6 sideways cabin. We had one on the 2015 WBPC and loved it. It definitely feels more spacious. I think quite a few of our group have the sideways staterooms booked.

We have stayed in the next two cabins down the hall from the one we have booked, one of them twice. They are the same but seem so different from the other cabins. I think it's just because you enter from the middle of the room instead of the end?

Welcome @jotabs and @Cruisin ! pirate:

Can I have some clarification on this?

Does every cabin participating have their own Roaming Mickey magnet that is sent around from door to door or is it only one magnet?

Sounds like each cabin has their own.

Does someone order all of the magnets or are we each responsible for providing our own?

It sounds like a fun idea.

Hi, We will be making the template with the room number empty. You will be able to download this onto a magnet or laminated sheet for yourself. This way anyone can print this and place it on doors, there will also be a list of folks involved so we know who's cabins to place them on etc....I hope this helps!

Perfect explanation. Thank you.

Not that I want to try this, but can you do this cruise with no passport(only a birth certificate)? Just a random thought that I thought I would ask about:goodvibes
