Hi everyone,

I'm trying to plan dining for our upcoming WDW trip in Feb. I'd like our kids, DS6 and DD4, to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks one night, and am wondering if there are viewing spots outside of the Magic Kingdom where we could watch. I know about seeing them from the California Grill (?) restaurant, but wondered if there are any beaches or other places that might not be terribly crowded. I can't bear the idea of watching from MK with thousands of other people and then having all of us get caught up in the throngs of people leaving the park as they end. I hate huge crowds, and so do my children.

Any ideas? Thank you....

Happy Holidays!!

Weve also viewed them from the 4th floor balcony at CR (doors are to either side just past the gift shops). You will also see some people on the stairs there (great view of the monorail too). Ive also read of people watching them from the Poly beach, and pier at GF.

My DD is terrfied of fireworks. We made a 7:15 dinner reservation at Ohana and it timed perfect for the 9pm wishes ( we kinda draged a little so we could see it!). We were next to the window. Perfect viewing location and they piped in the music. Good luck.

Fort Wilderness beach is also a great place. Then take boat back to MK.

I agree with the ferry landing back at the TTC. We watch from here a lot. We usually take the monorail from MK over to the TTC. When you get off the monorail and head down the ramp, turn right to head towards the ferry landing. Plenty of places to sit here.

I'd book Poly Concierge- the view from our room was amazing!
If you have other hotel plans, I'd just go to the Poly beach. You'll need to get there a little early to grab a lounge chair.

If you do get stuck inside the park during the fireworks, head to Mickey's Toon Town Fair. You can easily see the fireworks from here, and it's practically deserted. I read this tip online (probably on DIS) and we tried it last time we were at MK, and were surprised at how well it worked. We then headed toward Fronteirland at the back of the park and rode rides until the park closed, avoiding that after-firework rush to leave the park.

The beach at Poly is great but you do not hear the music. If you are in the park, try behind the Castle by the Hundred Arce Wood. You do miss out on some of the action and thwe castle as a backdrop.

An another alternative is the path that runs in front of the grassy knowl to the right of the castle. You are just below Tinkerbell but it is certinaly not as crowded as the front of the castle. WDW and crowds are hard to avoid.

I was going to suggest toon town, by the indy cars. We watched wishes from there one night and it was pretty good and no crowds. Another place is off to the side of the castle, by the bridge over to adventure land or bridge to liberty square. Both places not crowded.

We liked watching back in Fantasyland, near the Pooh ride. Not nearly as many people as you find on Main Street. Then, you're ready to just hop on some of the rides in Fantasyland when fireworks are over and you beat the crowd coming back from Main Street.
