Wondering what the consensus here is....

Is the shoe appropriate for an office?

  • Yes

  • No

It would depend on the dress code of the business, but overall I think it's fine. (I was also expecting something much different in the OP.)

I have worked at businesses (offices without factories/warehouses) where they had a "no open toe shoes" rule in the dress code. Also, "no shirts with writing of any kind", etc. I don't always agree with the dress code, but it's part of the job.

I voted yes, it's a peep toe not an open sandle.

At my work we do have a no open toe policy for some workers and it is a safety issue (dropped books and bookcarts), but in an office environment I can not see that being considered 'open toe' enough to be a safety hazzard, or anything but a conservative black heel.

I voted "inappropriate" because the open toe makes it more evening wear for me even though the rest of the shoe looks very conservative.

I was expecting something like this:

Who the heck puts cute little gerbils in shoes?

It's actually a little too conservative for my tastes (most of my work shoes are 3 1/2 inch or higher heel), so absolutely appropriate for an office that does not have a no open toe shoe policy.

Like for an evening funeral?

Even the conservative Disney dress code would allow women to wear these shoes.

I voted NO only because every office i've worked in had a strict policy with shoes....open toed shoes were not allowed in all my years.

I agree with Robin.

I see nothing wrong with them, although open toed shoes are not uncommon in my area as it is usually a bajillion degrees outside and no one wears hosiery.

You should see the shoes that "office" workers wear in the building I work in - you'd think they are swinging on poles, they are so ridiculous. I was expecting shoes like that, lol.

Those would be ok according to my office policy and we are conservative.

Never heard of dress codes banning open toed shoes.

Are there rules against toe cleavage?:cool1:

Inappropriate, no. But I can think of some work environments that wouldn't allow open toed shoes for safety reasons. But then again in a lot of those environments I wouldn't be wearing pumps, anyway.

This is almsot the identical show I wear to the office each and every day. Mine even has a little bow on the tip. It truly looks identical.

I said no, but they would actually be inappropriate for me, BUT I work in a warehouse, not in an office attached to a warehouse, I sit IN the actual warehouse.
