My DMom and DStepdad just returned from 2 weeks in Cozumel. While there they were to find us the perfect beach to play on for our March cruise. Here's the verdict:
Playa Sol: very nice beach but pricey
Chankunhab (spelling??): nice but very rocky since it's on a coral reef. Good snorkeling spot but only a small lagoon like area for kids who aren't snorkelers. They did enjoy wathcing the dolphin interaction and all the other neat little places there.
Mr. Sanchos: Their pick for the best place to hang out. Nice shaded tables on the beach..good reasonable food and drinks and water sports. It's where we'll be headed with our 4 kiddos! Hope this helps someone.
PS They also said there were beautiful beaches on the other side of the island but I believe the travel time would be counterproductive. Not too sure about the waves and tides on that side either. They found lots of quaint bars ad sat on many a cliff overlooking the water with a Margarita in hand
