Working on my Fe gifts. How many of you are coming to Texas for the first time?

First time to Galveston for all of us! I'm very excited about having all day Friday to kick around and sightsee I wish we had longer because we keep finding restaurants that we want to try but don't know how we're going to fit them all in. I'm willing to give it a good effort though

So my all time favorite resturants are......

Shrimp N' Stuff on Ave O

Casey's on the Seawall

Gaido's on the Seawall (Right next to Casey's)

La King's Confectionary (Not really a resturant but you HAVE to go.... on The Strand)

Mario's on the Seawall (they have another on 61st but not as good)

Fish Tales on the Seawall

I sure do miss living on the island....

Love it! We figure we'll skip Gaido's this time as kids may be jetlagged & cranky and not up to a fancy-ish meal, but Casey's (now Nick's or Rick's, isn't it?) is on our must-do list! I've been drooling over the pecan pie for MONTHS!

We don't get into Galveston until about 7:30/8pm so will probably eat somewhere close to the Harbor House on Thursday night. Just can't get enough seafood

Every day I get more & more excited! I'm wondering if we're shortchanging our son by keeping the trip a secret, since I'm having so much fun planning & checking everything out. I'm not just daydreaming about it, I'm dreaming about the trip at night, too - maybe I shouldn't visit the DISboards so close to bedtime???

We booked last minute and I'm just getting around to posting. My husband and I and 2 girls (4 and 7 years) will be coming on the cruise! It's our first time on a cruise, so any tips are appreciated. I just requested to join the facebook page. Is it too late to do the FE?

Don't panic, we have 3 cabin spaces available for FEs. The person approving may just be away from her computer today.

Got to see the ship today! Rode the ferry and watched it leave port and the ship channel!
