Wondering about Pins

I am going on my first trip to Disney with a family of 4 who has never been before either. The two daughters are 10 and 12 and the 10 yr old is disabled and may not be able to enjoy all the rides her older sister can. SO I thought this whole pin trading thing might be a great idea- something we can do together to pass time. I bought one pin on ebay and I am now looking to buy a bunch more. There will be three of us trading (the two girls and me) so I probably need another 14 or so pins. Is ebay the way to go? Or do any of you have pins you would be willing to sell- I am in Maryland if that helps. Just a bunch to get us started.

Any other ideas or tips?

Disney Lanyards a must? or should I make my own?

Thanks for the input.

e-bay is the way to go IF you can buy them for under $8 a piece (the price at the parks) But be careful that you may be buying something that is not tradeable (e.g. buttons, pins without the Disney copyright on the back)

As far as lanyards, they aren't required. So do as you wish. If you have the time and inclination you could make them. Or you could buy them. Or you can wear your pins on your hat, shirt, whatever. Again beware. These little things have a habit of falling off and you losing them. So don't wear any that you really want to keep.

If you aren't doing anything Saturday and you are in MD, why not join a group of us at Parkhopper's pin meet. See that thread for details.

My two girls (5 and 8) are the traders in our family. I have found it is much easier to just carry the pins in my pocket for them to trade rather than worrying about a lanyard.
