I'm so anxious to see WOC in October. I'm hoping that any bugs are worked out especially the crowd control. I'm sure the next couple months are going to be hell, especially for the poor CM's who are working.
I've been following this since day one and the show has changed over the course of the last few years. It did start off having a small bit of a story, with this character called "blip" or something that would flutter around, tying each scene together. After some of the stuff I've read, they didn't want to have an actual storyline, like Fantasmic! follows. They wanted to showcase Disneymovies and showcase them in one of the most unbelieveable ways possible.
Reviews coming in are about 80% that are amazed and blown away, 20% that don't like it all. The 20% that don't like it, want there to be a story that's being told. They're saying NOT to go into seeing WOC expecting a story. But seeing it in person and seeing the scope and what they're able to do with water, fire and lasers, will literally take your breath away. The amount of gasping during the show is almost comical.
Most of the movies flow well into the next scene, with a couple exceptions. They were making changes to scenes and flows up until a couple weeks ago. They wanted to showcase newer Disney films more than old. Fantasmic takes care of that. Yet, they still pay omage to some of the old ones now.
The way they set this up, allows them to change things, update, add new movies or completely revamp the show with very little effort. It's all done in a control booth with programming. Next year, there will be holiday shows that will be incorporated during Halloween and Christmas for sure. Others are possible. The latest article with the designer, he stated that the show will constantly evolve.
Ok. That's all based upon countless articles, reviews and me scouring
youtube. I'm dying to see it.
