Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

You will have a great time in Disneyland! We aren't flying in until the 11th...too much time off of work. Will get in about 10 AM and spend the day around San Diego. Then off to the port on the 12th!! :woohoo:

We are really looking forward to seeing Disneyland. It's been on our bucket list for a while now. Luckily Donna has over 5 weeks vacation at work. Usually they don't like anyone to take over 2 weeks in a row. But others in the company, managers as well, have been taking 3 and 4 weeks off, so her boss almost couldn't say she couldn't have the time off. And, me just working part-time, I can get almost any time off I want. They need me more then I need them. It's kinda nice being in this position.:  (Insert evil laugh here!!!)

I think they pulled her out, David. When the little ones and I were watching the Dream yesterday, the Magic was not there. (we have to watch "Mickey's boat" every Sunday...am I training my grandkids right or what? :lmao:) One of the Carnival ships was in the berth she had been in on Saturday. I guess since she wasn't supposed to be there, they had no spot for her.

She is still there Stephanie, I just checked. Yesterday, Sunday, the Magic was down the channel at another dock to make room for the Royal Caribbean or Carnival, whichever it was, ship in port. Then after the Royal Caribbean or Carnival ship left they pulled her back up beside Disney's terminal in Port Canaveral.

Yes you are raising your grandkids very well Stephanie. It's never too early to start them on Disney. We took our granddaughter over to WDW when she was just 9 months old. She loved Mickey, but Goofy scared her. Not on purpose. His big nose startled her. Now Goofy is her favorite, a chip off the old block of her Papa.

Yeah, I've been working on them....the three older ones have each gone to WDW twice, and have had their first haircut at Harmony. The 17 month old is getting his first trip in January along with his first haircut (ok, we keep the hair trimmed out of his eyes, but the back is all there! All four of them get to sail on "Mickey's Boat" after 4 days in WDW in January. My granddaughter wants to ride the Aquaduck with Mema (me) and our oldest grandson wants to ride with Papa. The youngest two aren't tall enough, unless Dylan grows 4 or 5 inches between then and now....
Well, I will have to go take a peek when I get home......I didn't stay on the website once the Dream sailed.

We're Back!!! Hi Ho everyone. How are ya'll doing? We got back Saturday from our Oasis of the Seas cruise. We had a GREAT time. It is a beautiful ship and sooooooooooooooooooo BIG!!! Never got lost, but we did get turned around a couple of times.

Did anyone out there miss us?!??:confused3 Let me see your hands go up...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................no one??:confused3 Ok, ok, ok I do see one hand going up, way in the back there...............no, you were just scratching your head.......sorry, wait now there is another one.............go ahead and put your hand all of the way up..........................no don't put it back down!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::cool1::cool1:

We did have fun, missed seeing the Disney characters though. But all in all it was a great cruise. We had some wonderful servers at our dinning room table and made some new friends at our table. One couple were newly weds and were on their honeymoon. Our stateroom hostess was fantastic. She was from Jamaica, and she was funny. She had allot of stories she shared with us.

We are soooooooooooo looking forward to this cruise next September. Donna has started a list already of some things we are going to need for this cruise. I also, want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: all of our new cruisers joining us on the cruise. So glad all of you are joining us. Thanks Sparky47 for posting the link to the navigators. We are going to read thru those for sure. It's good to be back amongst all my friends. :cool1::banana::banana::cool1:

You are absolutely hilarious and should seriously consider writing.

At least you didn't flash TSA last time you flew! I did that. I was pissed off and irritated and they wanted to pat me down (it didn't help I had a "severely sprained ankle" and had to take my shoe on and off.).

So here's the reason why I haven't been posting:
I was in the hospital! My hospital... I had pancreatitis, which BTW sucks (!!!!!), and now got told no booze for me. I thought it would be bad to be posting while on a morphine PCA/drip. The cruise? No drinking for me. I guess that makes it cheaper?

Glad everyone is back from vacation!:cheer2:
What a major bummer. I was hoping we could get schnuckered and talk shop.

Dude... I love talking shop. So I can do it while drunk or not. I can have one drink every other day if I eat right. I haven't had any booze since.... 3 weeks ago? :confused3

Sweet! My non medical friends don't get how I can talk about medical stuff while I eat and what not, without it bothering me :confused3 Just spent this past weekend at the Science Center looking at real body parts dissected and on display, with my new boyfriend. He told me it was a "complete thrill" watching my face as I looked at the items on display. He said I lit up like a 6yr old on Christmas morning :santa:. What can I say, I'm just a science girl at heart . Can hardly wait to meet you and talk about "gross" stuff  with or without alcohol.

Steve, I know you have kids at home you want to get back to. If our kids were still at home we wouldn't be extending our vacation. But our two are all grown up now and out on their own now. YEAH!!!!!!!! :cool1::banana: (Was that me?!?? Was I talking??!? Did I say that out loud!!!)

Someday I'll get to where you are. But right now, not so much. It's hard to think that someday they'll be grown up an on they're own. This trip
Will be the longest time we've ever spent away from the kids.

LOL! I want to talk shop! I love it! My friends and I sit around talking medical gross stuff at the local coffee shop/diner after work. We gross out everyone around us pretty regularly. I have a funny/embarrassing story that happened to me last week: I was on a morphine PCA, getting 1mg/q10minutes. Being the thorough aide (who has seen people not press the button and then have to "catch up") I was really good pressing the button. My sister, Kelly, came to visit me around 2pm. She asked "how are you doing?" I have a very vague recollection of this...I was sitting in bed, not under my blankets, wearing the hospital gown, and said (in front of the CNA and RN I work with, that I'm friends with) "I'm a lizard...a lounge lizard...." very slowly. DSister said the CNA and RN both lost it and started laughing. DSister was like "and you are done with the pain button." Had 17mg of morphine in 3 hours with a continuous going....:thumbsup2

Susan................I had that once..................schnuckered. Long time ago. I didn't feel very well, headachey, upset stomach, I even got sick a couple of times, dizzy, felt like the room was spinning, disoriented, every sound made my head ache worse, a NASTY taste in my mouth, wanted to stay in bed until I died, just an overall didn't feel good.
I think they have a pill for that now. :thumbsup2

You two have fun talking shop!!!

I once was where you are now Steve. I know what you are talking about.

Donna and I couldn't ever think that our two lovable little angles would grow up and be out on their own either. Then as they got older, got bigger/taller, put on some weight, (darling son would eat EVERYTHING in the house), got louder, would talk back to you, sneak around the house, and out of the house when grounded, wouldn't listen to your attempts at explaining why they should do their homework so they would get good grades so they could go to college, hang around with the most unsavory - what they call friends - we called punks, wouldn't wear the nice new clothes we bought them for the beginning of the school year, had to wear the old jeans with the holes - EVERYWHERE, that were now 2 sizes too small, those two lovable angles DID grow up. And I can say now that we love them dearly and they have grown up to be two wonderful people we are proud of..............and we actually like them. :lmao::lmao::lmao::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Donna and I deserve a pat on the back! These two grew up to become two wonderful people despite all of our efforts.

I had two of those too...only BOTH mine kept my cupboards bare and fridge empty. They insisted on wearing those long shorts every day despite snow on the ground...
NOW they are starting on their own journeys.....both grown and both good husbands and fathers.....while DH and I sit back, beaming with pride, a slight tear in our eye;

and ....

Laughing with glee and a teeny bit of malice as we contemplate the future that stretches in front of them.....:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seems the more I talk to people Stephanie, it appears that most all kids are alike in so many ways. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we too are sitting back and watching them do and say all the same things we did and said when we were the parents. And we are :lmao::lmao::lmao: at all of this!!! (I guess all generations go thru the same fazes as we did.) You don't suppose our parents felt the same way do you???? Course not, we WERE the perfect little angles when we were kids!!!:thumbsup2

Now that is funny stuff right there :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:. Highest I've ever been was after my angioplasty. My back was killing me from lying flat so they gave me 2 percocets 5/325 and it wasn't 20 minutes after I swallowed them that my ACT was normal and they gave me a 4mg morphine push before pulling my sheth. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 I honestly don't remember much after that until my nurse told me that I could roll over. I curled into a ball on my side and woke up the next morning. :cloud9:

You had a great reason to be hittin that button though cause that chit HURTS!! Glad you are feeling better.

don't go chatting too much as I won't be checking in for a while and I don't want to have too much to catch up on when we get back!!! We're flying to Venice to join Ruby Princess for a 12 night cruise around the Greek Islands (plus Dubrovik Croatia, Kusadasi Turkey) then ending in Rome. Our first time on Princess, but it's very port intensive so we won't get a lot of time to really enjoy the ship.
