Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Well, may we all get cheap flights, because, let's face it, the vacation is not about the plane but about the ship. ;)

To all my fellow cruisers. I have another question for ya'll. Do you think $288.00 per person for a one way flight from Tampa to Sunny California is a good price? As I have said, we haven't flown since the planes used rubber bands for power.

I paid $250 for our flights from Dulles to SAN. I thought that was an EXCEPTIONAL price since most of the other prices for one-way tickets were over $800....so YES I grabbed them even though we are 11 months out!

That said, I seem to be in the minority here and others believe they will become cheaper.

Thanks Stephanie. I too thought this was a pretty darn good price. But, not having flown in umemmmmteen years :confused3 I wasn't sure. Yours sounds like a good one as well. Think, when I get home, I'm going to go ahead a purchase us two seats. If you buy now, we can't get a refund if we want to, is that right? :confused3 (So many rule and regulations now. It was simpler back in the day. That almost dates me doesn't it??!!!!!??):lmao:

Wait what?! I am super excited about going through airport security, being told to strip down to my leggings, tank top, sports bra, socks- then patted down.... awesome. :joker:

Hey everybody, checkout the link above. Both the Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy are in Port Canaveral!!!:cool1::yay::cool1::yay: They are still doing some finishing touches on the Magic before she heads down to Miami for her maiden voyage after being refurbished.:thumbsup2

None of the ships are in PC tonight....

Va-Nana Tink...what airline will you take from Dulles? We will leave from there also. Am always looking for good fares.:thumbsup2

I hope you get better soon and the adjustments you have to make are not too onerous. Is the diet a forever thing? We fly United because DH is a really frequent flyer with them! :) gotta love business travel!

That's why we fly American and it's One World partners unless another airline is significantly lower for the route we want. We save and use our air miles for the really expensive overseas, (business/first) flights, or when we're flying all our kids/GK somewhere or for those last minute, super high $$$ fares.

United. Hope you are able to grab a good fare!

Looks like it's going to be United for us too Stephanie.:cool1: We leave Tampa and fly into Dulles as well. Then switch planes for our flight out to CA. We are flying on Sunday 9/7/14. Going to Disneyland for a few days before the cruise. Now we have to be sure our suitcases meet the airlines regulations, size wise and weight wise, after packing. We did weigh our luggage after packing for our Oasis cruise a couple of weeks ago. And we were well under the 50 pound limit, so we should be alright. :thumbsup2

The Disney Magic is still at Port Canaveral. I understand Disney cancelled the first cruise scheduled for the Magic after the new refurbish. They are going to have to work non stop to make the second sailing. If I'm not mistaken she is going to do 5 day cruises out of Miami.

Wish sometimes wish we could make it a coast to coast DL-WDW trip. But neither Laura or I are super excited about being away for longer than the 14 day cruise.

You will have a great time in Disneyland! We aren't flying in until the 11th...too much time off of work. Will get in about 10 AM and spend the day around San Diego. Then off to the port on the 12th!! :woohoo:

I think they pulled her out, David. When the little ones and I were watching the Dream yesterday, the Magic was not there. (we have to watch "Mickey's boat" every Sunday...am I training my grandkids right or what? :lmao:) One of the Carnival ships was in the berth she had been in on Saturday. I guess since she wasn't supposed to be there, they had no spot for her.

Oh I'd be super-excited enough, but the powers probably wouldn't be! :lmao:

We might add a few days at WDW at the end since we get back on a Friday...we keep changing our minds.

Steve, I know you have kids at home you want to get back to. If our kids were still at home we wouldn't be extending our vacation. But our two are all grown up now and out on their own now. YEAH!!!!!!!! :cool1::banana: (Was that me?!?? Was I talking??!? Did I say that out loud!!!)
