Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Thanks, but I've got the luggage covered. That's why I had a son! LOL.

That is funny!!! You know, that was the reason I had a son too!!! :lmao: But it turned out I ended up doing more work..........cleaning up after all of HIS messes!!! I can never catch a break!!!

It looks like two more weeks and we'll be able to book air. I just did a huge amount if airfare surfing and found that I can get air to San Diego from Fresno and then from Orlando to Fresno for a really great price. It'll eliminate any need for hotels and cut my travel time from about an 8 hour drive to a two hour drive. I'm way happy with that!

Good for you. Any time you can save some money, that is a good thing. Guess I better start looking into airfare for us as well. We haven't flown in what seems like forever. (Hope I don't scream like a girl too loudly, like I did the last plane trip we took!!!)

Thanks everyone for letting me know about the character breakfast. I appreciate your help.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

At least you didn't flash TSA last time you flew! I did that. I was pissed off and irritated and they wanted to pat me down (it didn't help I had a "severely sprained ankle" and had to take my shoe on and off.).

So here's the reason why I haven't been posting:
I was in the hospital! My hospital... I had pancreatitis, which BTW sucks (!!!!!), and now got told no booze for me. I thought it would be bad to be posting while on a morphine PCA/drip. The cruise? No drinking for me. I guess that makes it cheaper?

Glad everyone is back from vacation!:cheer2:

Yeah, pancreatitis is miserable!! Take care of yourself.

so next week i can book my plane tickets and the prices are good but i do have a question is chicago o hare easy to get around when u are connecting

We've never had problems with connections at O'hare .

David,
Many of the airlines book appx 330 days in advance. If you aren't particular, do a Kayak or Expedia, Priceline check to compare but remember there are so airlines, such as Southwest, that don't show their fares anywhere but their own website. BTW, we loved Oasis! It is one of my top two favorite ships- the other being DCL Dream. Glad to hear you had a great time. Maria

Hope you're back in tip-top shape very soon!

Very excited as BA flights booked via London direct to San Diego. Flying out on the Wednesday to sample San Diego as it will our first time there and staying an extra night in Orlando before we head home to Scotland ttxx

I'm going to start this week-end checking out pricing. We do not favor one airlines over another. But we do want to get a good deal, so I'll be checking out everything.

I agree, the Oasis is a spectacular ship. We loved it too. All of the shows were fantastic. We had a GREAT experience on board the Oasis. Our last night in the dinning room at dessert, I couldn't make up my mind between the Key Lime Pie and the Apple Strudel. So our server said he would bring me both of them. Well, two of our tablemates asked for both as well. Donna couldn't believe I got both desserts. (I did share the Apple Strudel with her since she ordered the Key Lime Pie.):thumbsup2

I like www.google.com/flights

For an air search. I find flights and prices there that I don't even see on the carriers websites.

Is that the 10th? If so, we are also booked on that flight from H'row!

Thanks Steve for the link for airfare pricing. I'm going to add that to my searching this week-end.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT Thursday!!!

I'm afraid to do anything with airfare....in January we stand the chance we go through more times like we just went through. I don't think my heart can take it!
:sad1:

Flight booked to San Diego! Arriving the day before to spend the day around SD. Yes,, that is 9/11. I'm good with that. I can't let fear dictate my actions. I tend to do that so booking 9/11 is a positive step for me.

Thanks for the good thoughts! I'm on the most boring diet ever and my parents are both hovering (and I know a bunch of you have kids my age so you can relate) along with my sister monitoring everything I put in my mouth. They think it was pancreatitis r/t possibly passing a tiny tiny gallstone. Plus side it didn't eat my PTO. Yay!

I want to check Southwest for my travel plans and I think they're only up to May right now. I think we are going to fly out the 10th, because yes I do want family time in California. Figure 2 bags checked in is a good deal. We still have time, right?

I hope you get better soon and the adjustments you have to make are not too onerous. Is the diet a forever thing?

We fly United because DH is a really frequent flyer with them! :) gotta love business travel!

All you people booking flights now, you do understand that flights are ALWAYS at their peak price this far out. I understand the peace of mind in booking early, but you are hurting your wallet in the long run. :(

For me they are the cheapest because the longer i wait the more exspensive they become

Not always, and I've been watching the prices...we got a great price!! So I'm happy. Now, for the week before and the week after, the prices were high. I think I caught one of those unannounced price breaks. I've been doing this a while, I think I have a pretty good handle on what to look for. :surfweb: Right now, the return flight to Dulles from Orlando is MORE than what I paid for the flight from Dulles to San Diego. I haven't booked the Orlando-Dulles flight. ;)
