Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Hi Everyone!

Reserved this cruise nearly two years ago! And now we've got everything coming together nicely - boss signed off on my three week vacation; reserved Animal Kingdom for after the cruise (DVC); and just bought our return tickets home. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm excited to get to know my fellow Dis-members. This is a our third cruise on the Wonder - March 2011 Mexican Riviera, May 2012 Pacific Coast northbound. Anyone on this cruise that we may have met before???

This cruise is me (Lori), DH (Bryce) and DD (Hannah - 16YO at cruise time).

Are there any "teen" threads started for this cruise?

Hello to all!! Lori

:welcome::welcome::welcome: Lori, Bryce and Hannah! This is going to be such a fun cruise :cool1: Bob and I look forward to meeting you.

So I'm trying to price and line up flights for my family. Currently finding some reasonable rates and had a question in regards to time to fly out of Orlando when we get back. The ship docks in the morning according to the itinerary. We purchased the ride back from the port to the airport. So my question is how long does it take to get off the ship and to the airport? I know the drive is about an hour but not sure how long it takes to get off the ship. Would an afternoon flight of about 2 or 3 be safe to book or should I go later in the evening? Any help would be appreciated. :upsidedow

We usually book a flight at 1:45 and have never had an issue being back in time. (this time we had to take a 4 PM flight....loooonnnngggg wait for us!) Everyone is supposed to be off the ship by 9:30. If you use the airport check-in, you sail through customs. The line looks horrendous, but moves quite fast. I believe the suggestion is no earlier than 12:30.

Do you have early or late dinner? If you have early dinner, your breakfast (if you wish to take it) will be about 6:30 I think. If you have late dinner, you will have breakfast at 8. Or you can do Cabanas on your own schedule.

Uuummmmmmmmmmm, what Stephanie said emkamartin sounds right to me.

 We just got another 8 inches of snow today. I have absolutely had it with winter. This cruise cannot come soon enough,

Stayed at BLT in 2010. It was nice and I enjoyed the water parade at night but I was amazed at how beat up the room was, especially with it being fairly new. My home resort is AKL Kidani which is very nice if you're not in a hurry to get anywhere quickly :drive:. Really enjoyed BWV in 2012 and would love to stay there again.

This is Brad...I was also shocked at how rundown the rooms were too along with the poor transportation. I would never recommend the BLT to anybody.

Stay warm, be safe. We're getting wind. Lots and lots of wind. And it's not fun Santa Ana winds. It is scary Northwestern howling wind.

UGH!!! WE are going into the 50s by the end of this week, but next Tuesday, calling for more snow/wintery mix and temp back down in the low 30s. I'm hoping since it's still a week away something, anything will change!!! :rolleyes2

I'd tell ya'll what the temps are down here in Florida....................but I.............I don't want to get banned from our thread!!!:lmao:

Something occurred to me after watching "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer for like the fourth time (at like 0200) :
I'm going to be on a Disney boat for two weeks, cruising the year "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Thor: The Dark World," and "Captain America: Winter Solider" comes out... Meaning those three movies will probably be playing. I am so excited. Basically find me in the movie theater. I will be totally geeking out.

Oh and here's the link to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer:

Seriously this makes me happy. I should point out I am a HUGE comic book nerd. Not huge in size, huge in nerdness.

Dave (my DH, not David) will probably be in the theater with you! LOL I'll be on deck with a book.

And, David, we would never ban you from the thread....
Call you names, maybe.....
Plot revenge on you, maybe....

Dude... we're at 40 and super winds and gray. Yeah. And we wonder why people love/hate Florida. I am knitting neon yellow scarves because I miss that fictional thing called the sun.

We booked our hotel, flights tomorrow night (well tonight at like midnight). And our rental car. we're nearing 6 months.

Names won't hurt me Stephanie. Heck Donna sometime calls out................well I can't post it on here................but anyways, me and the dog both take off running!!! I only get hurt when she catches me.........the dog is faster then I am............he smiles at me...........yes he actually smiles at me as he runs past me!!! (Smart *** dog!!!) The revenge part is what scares me!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

But anywho.................here it goes. Yesterday - Sunny - High of 78 - - today -again Sunny - High of 80. Tomorrow expect the same as today. A cool front comes in over the week-end to cool us off highs in the low 70's with a chance of some rain.

I'm in Texas but we're hated too. Probably more.

DCL website recommends not booking a flight out of Orlando International before 11am, so if you book early afternoon or evening you should be fine.

:welcome::welcome: to our Wonderful family Lori, Bryce and Hannah!! This cruise is going to be soooooooooooooooooooo much fun. My Fish Extender goodies came today :banana: so now I just need to finish up the gift that I am making and get the Fish Extender itself out of my head and into fruition.

I can hardly wait for this vacation, and not just because I haven't had one since July 2012. I am about to apply to a BSN to DNP 3 year program sponsored by my employer and if I get accepted this trip will be my last major trip until I graduate in May of 2018 so I plan to make the very most of it.

The temp here got up to 71 degrees today and storms have been moving through, but it is supposed to get cold again and possibly snow some more next week. I am sooooooooo ready for spring. I know we needed a brutal winter to kill off some resilent germs but I'm over it and more than ready for warmer weather.
