Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Hello All,

Just booked yesterday. What an active group. I have been watching prices for some time for this sailing and finally the IGT rate came out. I am sailing solo, so price is definitely a factor. I will be making several posts as I am short 3 to have my required 10 posts to be able to PM a member and join the Facebook page.

A bit about me. Again, sailing solo. This will be my second Disney cruise. I sailed on the Wonder last December. Thought it would be a one shot experience of Disney cruising and absolutely loved it.

I have sailed on most of the cruise lines and this will be my second Panama Canal crossing, last was Westbound on the Celebrity Millennium. This will be my 15th cruise overall. About half have been as a solo.

I do intend to read every post in this thread. Since I have been wanting to book this cruise I have already been checking in on it periodically. I am actually booked on the May 2015 canal crossing, but I will cancel it once my travel agent is in. I was too anxious to book when I saw the price and did it online.

Did I mention I am excited?

A solo traveler! Okay that's where mentally I'm eventually going on vacationing. I'm 33 and looking at the spinsterhood (it's my own personal joke). How much is it to book solo?

Too much 200% of the price

Darn it! Being a spinster is starting to suck. Plus side: I don't have to share a bed. I live in a 703 square foot cottage with chick lit and chick flicks and no one to complain when I walk around in my unders.

I'll add my welcome to the newcomers, and invite them to join in the sign-up for shared dining. I've set up a Googledoc spreadsheet where people can sign up to share a table with others from this forum.

Just send me a PM and I'll give you the url to sign up. The spreadsheet gives you a space to indicate how many in your party, early or late dining, and if you have children. Sometime this summer we'll have to figure a way to split up into tables, and one person from each group can submit reservation numbers to Disney or their TA so their dining will be linked as a group.

Again, welcome. Summer always zips by, so our cruise will be here before we know it! :cool1:

Kim, you need to find a spouse/partner/SO who won't mind you walking around in undies~ or less ; )

Also, I personally know of 2 happy marriages of people who met on EHarmony and another friend is engaged to a nice man she met on Match.com!

Thanks all for the warm welcomes!

I am 40 pages deep into reading this thread and getting to know some of you a bit. Some fellow Texans onboard as well as others from outside the US. One of the advantages of cruising is meeting people from all over the world, as well as finding fellow cruisers from nearby.

I will be the passenger with an ever-present Kindle. Last canal crossing I read 8 books.

We might 'bump' into each other because our noses are stuck in our Kindles! :lmao:

My last canal crossing (2008) was paperback city! So thankful not having to carry all those books this time!!!
