Wonderful Christmas

I just want to say that we had a wonderful Christmas. Not everything went perfect. Some family members acted like themselves (enough said)! Gifts were wrong, gifts were right. Kids were kids. Food was great, good, okay and ....

But, Christmas was wonderful!

It started in low. Then it started to grow...
But the sound wasn't sad!
Why, this sound sounded merry!
It couldn't be so!
But it WAS merry! VERY!
He stared down at Who-ville!
The Grinch popped his eyes!
Then he shook!
What he saw was a shocking surprise!
Every Who down in Who-ville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming!
IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, `till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"

Ours was pretty perfect - the adults agreed no gifts, of course everyone got them anyway, but they were small and lovely and thoughtful - (I got sequined Minnie ears!) The most important thing has been spending time together as a family - we haven't been able to be together for four years due to broken legs (DMother last year) herniated discs (me three Christmases ago) and it is my DH's first family with my family. It has just been WONDERFUL!

Ours was good too!

We all kinda feel like it might be my Mom's last, but you never know. She turns 93 next month. She was hospitalized 3 times earlier this year and she fell a week ago. (we're still trying to figure out what her prognosis is regarding the fall.) But everyone spent time with her. She sat in on the chaos that is the gift-opening and also spent time in her room with her feet up. She's recuperating today.

Another here with a great Christmas and no drama. My family all lives in the same city so we get together often. My DH's parents are both deceased and his brother lives in another state so we spend every holiday with my family. We had Christmas Eve dinner at my sister's house. Opened presents Christmas morning at my parents' house and then had Christmas dinner at ours. Everyone gets a chance to host something (expect for my brother who would rather let everyone else do it which is fine with us!). My boys are the only grandkids/nephews so they got showered once again with gifts. We had a great time making merry but I sure am exhausted today!

We had a great Christmas here too. We are Florida, my family is in Ohio and his family is in New York. We had a very low key Christmas this year. I had a baby two and half weeks ago so new DD and I slept almost all day. It was great. DS13 and DBF both got a video game for Christmas and spent the day playing. I did wake up and make dinner though.
