When you go onboard, cast members announce your name and you get a round of applause. People have filmed it if you do a search so you can see what happens. I LOVE being announced on the ship
You don't find out your dining rotation until you checkin the day of the cruise. You can call DCL and request a certain rotation, but it is not guaranteed and there is chatter on the main forum that you can't request it anymore
You will be in Animators at least twice anyways so I don't know if I would worry about it. I just go with whatever Disney assigns me as the only night that sticks out in my memory is Pirate night.When you board, they ask your family name and then announce "Disney cruise line welcomes the X family" Then the CM's welcoming you on board applaud. Some people come up with creative names to use instead of their own, like The Incredible Family.
The show in Animator's is your first night in that restaurant. I believe the only exception is on embarkation night, then it would be your second night. One strategy is if you make your Palo ressie's after night 4 you're sure to be okay. Another strategy is if you have main dining make your Palo ressie for later in the evening and if you have late dining make your Palo ressie early in the evening. This way you can still go to Animator's with the kids and are assured of not missing the show - just have an appetizer or just a drink or just a dessert in Animator's. The "show" on the Wonder is subtle, the the black & white items (wall art, lighting, and servers vests) slowly change to color, then there is a surprise visitor with clapping at the end.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your help! I am still a little confused about how it works.. I see I'm in group 2... So does that mean I only get gifts for the group 2 people? Is there a certain day that I give my gifts? Sorry for all the questions!
Group 2 is all you are responsible for, but you can pixie dust anybody else on the list if you have extras. You can pick any day you want to deliver, just have it delivered by Thursday afternoon so people have time to pack. FE's are easy - you can either do a cabin gift or gift per person in the room - if you are ambitious, you can deliver something everyday, although you really only have to do once(one and done I like to call it) - have your extender up night 1 for people who like to get an early start.
is anyone else concerned about the flooding in Texas and traveling down?
I am more worried about the traffic and all the bikers that will be in Galveston
