We are leaving for our fourth Disney Cruise next week. This will be our first one on the Wonder and I am curious if people have some advice of things we should be aware of compared to the other ships. Looking at the ship, it looks like there is a lot less on the Wonder than the others. We have two boys with us - 5/6.

Interested in the things you think we should know about the Wonder, things we should do, things we should avoid, etc.

Welcome suggestions. Again, not a DCL newbie as this will be our fourth.

Thanks!

I wouldn't say there is less to do on the Wonder. The only thing it lacks from the other ships is the AquaDunk and the Marvel Academy. She has the same number of clubs for kids and adults. The only other real difference is she still retains her original buffet configuration, not the newer Cabanas style, and most of her original build configuration.

The Wonder doesn't have the upgraded electronics found in the Magic re-imagined clubs however i have never heard any complaints. Our daughter was in the clubs almost constantly and was always excited to head back. While a smaller ship than the Dream Class ships, it feels more personal and keeps us plenty busy. Ship preference is a personal thing and for us the Wonder is our favorite, we like Parrot Cay far better than Cariocas, the Cove Cafe is much larger and a great place to escape and the staff consider the ship as their home.

kids clubs should not be an issue - your kids should love them. I wish I could go (I'm almost 6---0 ")) !!

Shutters has been upgraded to the "Library Book" system so thats a plus.

Staterooms are larger - well at least the ocean view rooms on deck 2 are larger and nicer on the Magic/Wonder than on the Dream/Fantasy

Up top, there are the 3 distinct sections of pools: out back is kiddy pool and splash area, then in the middle is the Family pool with the Funnel Vision and finally up front is the adult pool.

There's more areas to sit and see outside on the Magic/Wonder on decks 3 and 4.

The Wonder still has two staircases in the Atrium - and they have a much better "Until We Meet Again" "show" on the last night of the cruise

Smaller crowds on Castaway Cay - almost seems empty after sailing on a full Dream/Fantasy cruise.

more room between tables in the MDR's. You can get a table for 2 on the Dream/Fantasy, but you will still be sitting about 18 inches from the person at the next table (10 inch gap between some tables on Dream class)

What the Wonder does not have compared to the Dream/Fantasy:
  • Magic Portholes
  • Magic Artwork and Mickey's Mid Ship Detective Agency
  • Mini Golf
  • AquaDuck
  • AquaLab
  • Satellite Falls :sad2:
  • Remy's

Just got off the Wonder with my 9 and 7 year old boys. They liked the Oceaneer's Lab better than on the Magic, but my 7 year old did miss Avenger's academy. That being said, he did some amazing activities so he soon forgot to be upset that there was no Avengers. LOL. The biggest disappointment was that the frames in Animator's Palate weren't animated. Other than that, everything is awesome. The pools, entertainment, food were great.
