Wonder Nov18th 2007 Anyone???

Forgot to post this earlier, We received our cruise documents Friday, :cool1:
We were upgraded to a Cat 10 deluxe inside stateroom -deck 2 aft. :woohoo: Can't remember the exact room #.

I couldn't have been more excited almost hugged the UPS driver:eek:

Yah -- how exciting to see the cruise documents are on the way! I'll keep an eye out for the UPS gal.

Meeting up sounds good. We'll probably get to the terminal early, then hit the Mickey pool just after a quick lunch. Maybe one of those places?

Even though we live in Fl, I booked a hotel the night before at Days Inn -we live about 2 hrs away in Ocala, but DS has a Karate Tournament that Saturday in Tampa so we are planning to drive to the Port straight fron the tournament.
I'm planning on getting to the terminal early as well, DH doesn't understand why:confused3 but my belief is that vacation starts as soon as you get to Port so earlier the better. -and also hitting the Mickey pool. DS wants to be one of the first to hit that slide.

How funny - we are also leaving Saturday after DS7's last soccer game of the season and driving straight to the port. Unfortunately, we are much further away in Fla. (at least 6 hours drive, plus we lose an hour coming from central time). But it's his last game (DS5 has his last game the weekend earlier), DH has helped coach, and I've been the team mom -- we wouldn't miss it. Plus it will get both boys some exercise before being stuck in the car for so long.

Our documents arrived today!!! :woohoo:

Happy Halloween everyone! My pirates are ready for some fun! pirate: pirate:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ONE AND ALL!!!!

We are offically less than 20 days away:cheer2: My son was JAck Sparrow last year -so glad I kept his costume, this year he wanted to be Ash- the poke'mon trainer- luckily Grandma can sew- because we had to create our own costume.

TCB and CRUIZEN - I've been off line a couple of days but my excitement is growing! It's going to be a chilly Halloween in KC this year but not so cold that the kids have to wear coats. I'm glad our trip coincided with Halloween so we could get the pirate stuff.

As far as excursions go, I think we're going to try to get a cheap room at Atlantis for our Nassau day. On Hotels.com and Travelocity I've been seeing a rate as low as $178 for our family of four. Sure beats the excursion rate offered by the cruise. For Castaway Cay, Passporters has been a good guide for us.

Sounds like you're both busy with sports prior to the cruise. Have fun!:rotfl:

Weather here has been kinda gloomy and misty with Noel lurking -not bad last night though- DS had fun- had to cut it short though- Karate practice-
He has competed since he was 5 and he wouldn't miss this one no matter what.

Are any of you making t-shirts or door signs? I wasn't going to until I found the DIsigns forums  and they have designers that will personalize or create any thing for you. All I had to do was hit print.

See you all soon!!!!

I've seen some other threads mention cruise documents. Sounds like some are getting them in the mail and others are completing some on-line. I haven't received anything in the mail yet but I did see some sort of on-line questionnaire associated with our reservation number. Any suggestions about when we'll get something or should we get on-line to do that stuff right away.
Thanks.:confused3

You can ckin online, but you still should receive some documents in the mail along with luggage tags- I received mine last Friday.

I received our documents either Monday or Tuesday -- days go so fast that I can't remember from day to day. It's a smallish envelope. Some of the documents are the same as what is on-line. Whatever you don't fill out in advance they can help you with at the port.

I thinl I'll print out at least one sign to surprise the boys. What deck is everyone on -- we're on deck 6.

I'm gonna jump in here! This will be our first DCL trip. My DH won a pretty generous travel voucher through work and we decided to blow it all on this cruise (cat. 7 :cool1: ).
We wanted to avoid the passport restrictions after the new year and didn't want to pull the boys (9&11) out of school, neither of them has ever missed a day and I'm not gonna be the one to break the streak! I'm doing tons of reading but am not going too nuts planning. We did WDW last year & I was too tightly wrapped planning everything, it paid off but for just three days I'm going with a more relaxed attitude. I got my Paolo reservations and I booked the naughty steam room thingie but that's all. For Nassau day we plan on ditching the boys for a few hours and cabbing over to the casino at Atlantis. Then a nice relaxing day at CC and home. We're leaving from Baltimore on the first flight out Sunday morning, I'm a tad nervous but figure it'll beat a night in a hotel with two (no wait .... make that three) wound up boys.

Welcome Tournant! What a great bonus from work -- and what a great way to enjoy it!!!

Is anyone giving any thought to planning another cruise to take advantage of the discounts? I'm trying to talk DH into rebooking onboard for the 7-night cruise, although with DH's work schedule (active duty Air Force), it's hard to schedule anything more than a week in advance, much less a year or two. But we just had an unexpected stock buy-out, so I think we should at least give it some thought. I just wish the school schedules were available now for the next school year.

At this time in 2 weeks, we'll be on the road!!! :yay:

As far as rebooking the discount is pretty tempting, we'll see how much we enjoy ourselves this time out! We're already shopping for an Outer Banks NC beach house for our summer vacation but we do like to try to get away in the winter if we can pull it off.

okay well. im going to just jump in while you guys are in the middle of things. i will be traveling with my dh and 3 dd 17,15,12 and also with my sister-inlaw and her 3 kids-dd 15 and ds 12,8. we're all so excited this is my kids second cruise and mine and my husbands 4th, but our first disney. we cant wait 14 days left!!!:cheer2:

Cool!

Anyone want to think about trying to arrange a pink-carnation-in-the-lapel-meet-for-cocktails thing as we get closer?

I'm all for the meet -- when is everyone getting to the ship? (or it is the boat?)

XO - Welcome along! I have to ask -- how are you cruising with three kids, esp. all girls? Two rooms? That's great you are making it a family thing. My parents cruised with us the first time. (However, DH wanted to make it immediate family this time around!)

Welcome to Tourant and XOXOX,

Would love to meet up, as for rebooking I'm hoping to convince the DH to do the double dip this time next year- unless the 09 dates are finally out. My DS-8 will miss 3 days of school this time around - he only gets thurs, fri off for Thanksgiving but they usually don't do that much those 3 days before so we should be ok.

Hi, XO. I have DD's 11 and 8. My 11-year old is looking for some volleyball enthusiasts to get a game going on Castaway Cay. I'm sure they'll meet up in the OLab. Can't wait to meet all of you! We plan on getting to the terminal around 11:30. We'll be the ones in Jayhawk garb!

Anyone want to plan to meet at 3 p.m. at the Mickey pool? The kids can swim or hit the slide while we meet up. (Here's hoping the weather will cooperate!) I figure that gives everyone a chance to get on board, eat, rebook meals, find their rooms, etc. And wear our " pink carnation" ???
