WONDER May 20, 2007

We will be going to WDW for a couple of days after the cruise. Not sure we will get much rest in then, but it is a long weekend so maybe once we get home on Saturday we will be able to relax for the rest of the weekend. I have heard people mention the Pirate Museum. May need to look in to that as a possible excursion.

Anyone else been to Nassau that has done an excursion other than Atlantis?

We're also going to WDW for a few days after the cruise, so I'm planning to relax as much as possible while on the boat. I need to look more into the Pirate Museum. If this is something we can do by ourselves (with a baby), I'd love to check it out. We did the Atlantis aquarium last time and loved it. It was a lot bigger than I expected, so wear your walking shoes.

We haven't planned a magnet. That's another thing I need to look more into. I want to get an embroidered pillowcase for my DD's to have signed at guest services. So much to do, and time is going to go by fast.

Good Afternoon Fellow Cruisers!

Well, after reading many threads, here and on the Passporter site, we cancelled our Nassau excursion and plan on doing something short on our own, but spending most of the day on ship. We may walk around the Straw Market and do a little shopping or we are also considering the Pirate Museum. We started thinking about it and decided that this being a short cruise, we would rather get our moneys worth and spend more time on the ship. I've been reading plenty of negative things about the Nassau experince in general. Sounds like there will be a lot of us spending the day on the ship! Lol! :rotfl: Anyway, I'm much more excited about Castaway Cay! We booked Palo for brunch on our ship day. I'm trying to talk DH into some spa time. Not easy. Lets just say he's a bit "frugal". Does anyone know if I can take DD (16) with me for any spa treatments?

See you all in 50 days!!!!! :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :hourglass

We decided to not do anything as well in Nassau because I want to take the time to enjoy the ship. Since it is our first Disney cruise, I want to take as much of the ship in as I can.

Does anyone know if we can get brunch reservations at Palos once we get on the ship??? The only time I can get online is dinner for the first night.

I made our palo brunch ressie the moment were able to online. The 10am-11am spots were all taken already. We could only get 11:30 or 12:00, so they may be gone already! Good luck!

Is Palo only open for Brunch on the at sea day or everyday? We're doing the spa on the at sea day, so we didn't book the brunch. But if they do it other days, then maybe we'll check into that.

Another week closer to cruisin:banana:

At least now with it being April we can say we are going next month. My granddaughter has started asking quesitons about the Mickey slide. I looked up some pictures on the DCL picture of the day thread and showed her. She has told her mom she wants to take her princess dress up dresses on the Mickey boat. This is going to be a fun filled 4 days.

Anybody else dressing up for the Pirate Party? I was looking at some of the pirate clothing available, but from what I understand if the pirate night is on the Tuesday night (22nd), that is the night I have reserved for Palo dinner at 9. That is our actual 25th anniversary night, but I really wanted to do the pirate thing...OH choices:confused: ... I know Palo at 9 means we won't make any of the pirate party at all:sad1:

We will probably dress up, I just don't know how much. We planned all else around the pirate party because we love pirates. pirate: We're doing Palo's on Monday which means if we have the rotation I think we'll have, we're going to miss the show at AP. I missed a lot of it the last time because I got sick on that night. But with just 4 nights, you have to give something up. We're celebrating our 10th anniversary while on the cruise, even though it's not until a few weeks later. It was just much cheaper to cruise at the end of May than the middle of June.

Congrats on 25 years! That's an amazing milestone.

I'm still not sure how much we will do for Pirate Night. pirate: I know the kids would love it, but I'm not sure I want to spend for costumes, then have to pack them, etc.

We will also be celebrating our anniversary! Our 5th. Even though it's not until 2 days after our cruise ends.

We are also celebrating my 40th birthday, DD's 16th birthday and DS's 13th birthday. All are within a month of each other! Oh, and we are also going to be celebrating the completion of my husbands course work to receive his doctorate! Wow, are we going to be busy celebrating! pixiedust: :cake: party:

Congrats to everyone else we will be celebrating with!

but I'm not sure I want to spend for costumes, then have to pack them, etc.

We already own pirate costumes for DH and me, but I also am not sure I want to waste precious packing space on the costumes. We're going to WDW for 4 nights after the cruise and will need a lot of clothes, preferably not the pirate variety.

It sounds like we all have lots of celebrating to do! :woohoo: I can't wait to get the party started.

Anybody staying at WDW prior to the cruise?

Originally I had booked air for the morning of the 20th, but after reading all the concerns about that I called Saturday and booked a night at SSR. Only down side is the bus doesn't leave until 12:45, which will most likely mean crowded long lines at the terminal.

We're doing the land & sea, so we are staying at POFR 17th-20th before cruising. We figure we are going to NEED the cruise to get some relaxation after trying to fit as many parks in as we can in three days. I saw on another thread that the land & sea pkgs are done that way to remove any worries with flights not arriving on time and people don't have to worry about missing the cruise due to flight delays and such. I would like to arrive at Port Canaveral earlier also, but I'm just going to try to relax and not sweat it.

Oh, I almost forgot! Congratulations, Coach Rick, to you and your lovely wife on 25 years! :thumbsup2 What a wonderful thing to be able to celebrate! I hope my DH and I can celebrate our 25th anniversary on a Disney Cruise!

Why thank you very much. We are leaving our three lovely children home, and I feel guilty as sin, but then it will be nice to just go and have some alone time. Oldest DD22, DS17, DD13. All are probably thinking the same thing...:lmao:

WOW, that was quick. I applied only about 10 days ago. Granted I did pay the extra to expedite it, but I was told it would still be 4-6 weeks.

PASSPORT:thumbsup2 We applied for our passports on January 27. They finally came today:banana: I was starting to get worried after hearing that they were taking longer than they said to be processed. With them having the birth certificates....I was getting a little worried! Only 6 weeks left!:woohoo: We are staying at Country Inns May 17 - 20, so 6 weeks from now we will be chilling out at Port Canaveral:yay: :drinking1 :woohoo: :goodvibes After the cruise we are staying Thurs - Sat. at POR. Time will be flying by now:yay:

Correct me if I'm wrong....but we don't need passports for the bahamas cruise until 2008. :confused3
