Can't wait to sail again on the DCL. This will be my 2nd time cruising with Disney. My last cruise was a 7 night one with the Wonder in 2012. Wondering if there's still a formal and pirate night on the 3 night cruise.

I know what you mean by the end of next year we should be Gold CC members and we just had our first cruise last Sept. No worries about signing up later, but when you do please pm me so I can make sure it was received. Your parents are in San Jose, thats awesome. I have been WONDERing the same questions. Since its a short cruise I wouldn't think so, but only time will tell. I'm super excited to take a mini vaca and be back on the Wonder with DH. It will be our first time away from the kids at the same time for 3days.

First off to the DISboards! and the Cruise!

After submitting our deposit, we received a confirmation email from Disney Cruise Line, it wasn't immediate, but within 24 hours. The stateroom number was on that email, however, depending on the type of booking that you placed, you may not know your room number until shortly before the cruise. There are certain kinds of bookings and I'm not sure which they are, but if you placed a booking that will allow you to change your room prior to the cruise if a better category room comes available, they don't tell you until a couple months or weeks before the cruise.

We need a Handicapped accessible room, so they book us into our room as they are available since there are a limited number. We usually know exactly which room we are getting at the time of booking.

What does FE stand for?

FE = Fish Extender. On the outside of all the rooms is a Fish which is used for delivery of notices from Guest Services. People have turned this into a "gift delivery" system amongst folks on the DISboards. Just search for Fish Extender on Etsy or eBay and you will see what the item looks like. It is essentially a place where other cruises on the thread (who have chosen to participate in advance) leave gifts for those in your stateroom. There is a list distributed with all the participants. Folks either make or purchase the gifts and throughout the cruise folks leave the gifts in the fish extender. It's just another way to make the Magic continue on the cruise.

Because the 5 night Baja cruises have been so popular, some people were booked under GTY which is what the previous poster mentioned...Disney Cruise Line will assign your cabin number at a later date.

Doing the FE is so fun!!! It's so fun returning to your cabin and seeing presents in your FE. Last cruise I was pretty clueless and I was a little embarrassed with what I came up with. I signed up last minute and was allowed into the group. This time around I've been going crazy already (I've already been shopping for our May 2015 B2B cruises out of San Diego.

After people sign up and we reach the max number of cabins for a group I will email the info to the people in your group including yourself. The info will have the answers to the questions that were asked on the sign up sheet (# of people in the cabin, Cabin #, and so on).

There is one person in charge of organizing the FE groups. Typically he/she will usually assign a group of 10 or so cabins together. they drop off presents to those people in the cabin at any time throughout the cruise. Gifts can range from store bought items, handmade items, items from the area/city/state you're from, favorite Disney characters, etc.

Last time I found Disney related male and female items for adults but mainly kids.

This time around I've gotten items for adults and kids, male and female. Hint...most of them are Disney related. I won't be more specific cuz it's a surprise!!! You might be in my FE group!!!

There is a Fish Extenders FB group and they have tons of pics for ideas, and I'm sure if you google Fish Extenders there will be good ideas.

Hi all. I signed up for the FE exchange. I'm so excited! I can't wait until it gets closer so I can start preparing the goodies. I LOVE stuff like this.

How soon do you start preparing?

This is our first Disney cruise and I can't wait!

I usually wait until the list is finalized so that I don't leave anyone out. I tend to give similar adult gifts to various cabins and kid gifts as well. My first FE cruise I was way too specific and tried to give age appropriate cartoons and puzzles to the kids and other gifts to the adults. Now, I'm a bit more generic because I realized I can't always carry a whole suitcase for my FE gifts.

This trip I could since we're driving, but when we went to Galveston we got a glass block tile with a Mickey head on it. I didn't know how we would fly back to our hometown with that in the suitcase as we were already close to our limit in souvenirs. Think small since we all have to carry them home! I liked getting the little booze bottles, I know some people were against that, but I thought it was fun! Candy is also good because you can snack on it in the car home. We have a lot of "stuff" so edibles were great with other, but for others YMMV.

I have also found from reading various TRs that the CMs love things like chocolate and Nutella as they are not allowed to bring these things on themselves. Something about the dairy products. Since we have four cruises on the Wonder between Oct 31, 2014 and Oct 18 2015, we will be bringing plenty of goodies for the CMs as well so that they remember us when we come back on the ship.

I got this tip from a European who brings candies from Europe to give to the servers and stateroom hosts. I'm hoping that they might like See's lollipops since those are native to Los Angeles. They are chocolate and some of the only candies that I can think of besides Ghiradelli that I could bring along. I suppose the individually wrapped Ghiradelli candies would work as well.

Just a few tips in case you plan on being back on the Wonder after this cruise!
