Wonder January 4 2016 Galveston to Puerto Rico

My last count there were still over 150 cabins available to book
Oh wow! For four persons? That's crazy! I was only seeing those above right then when searching. But then again I was using our children's two ages so lifeboat zones can be affected. When I changed it to just booking two persons (instead of four) many more cabins came up but I didn't bother writing those down because we wouldn't be placed in them whenever our GTY gets assigned. Hopefully it will be like our three transatlantic cruises on the Magic and be low numbers of people onboard - makes it much better than a crowded holiday sailing IMHO :)

Thank you ..its our first Disney cruise and i just wanted to make sure. super excited!!

This is a xmas gift for my daughter and she doesnt know it yet. My question is anyone else surprising the kidos? i cant wait to see her face when she opens her gift on xmas day!!
That is super cool! What a fantastic Christmas surprise.

Verandah cabins for 4 persons popped back up this morning. Yesterday only the categories that slept 3 or less were popping up. Some insides I have been keeping an eye on have been taken so I am thinking GTYs are getting assigned. (We originally booked this opening day of bookings, then cancelled our booking day of PIF since many cabins available to roll the dice to see if lower rates would come out, which they did)

Our GTY was assigned a cabin number a couple of weeks ago, so you were right on about that for sure. We should've done what you did & cancelled on PIF day & held out for OGT. Instead of PIF GTY & then upgrading to an outside stateroom later. Had we done what you did, we would've come out ahead about $500 even despite the onboard booking discount. But now it's not worth it with the cancellation fee. These repositioning cruises are like transatlantic. They don't fill up, so IGT, OGT & VGT are pretty much a given like you said. If you know what to expect & hold out, you can save some bank.

Exactly. Two of our outside gty rates for airline employee (Interline) put us in bow of ship on 14-nt cruises. We are good anywhere and not married to any specific location. One December we got midship Deck 6 which we loved loved loved.
We figure this time we are on the ship and that's what we are after - any category any where
I have a cruise this weekend And another nov 30 - not DCL - so the money saved helps a lot

How are you doing your reveal?

My idea - so far, is to do include a puzzle piece or two in each gift they open under the tree. That puzzle will reveal the first clue for a scavenger hunt. Then 4 or 5 more clues (made into puzzles) around the house. The last will lead them outside and tell them to "Follow the cord" (or something similar). A power cord will lead to the side yard, where there will be a lightly wrapped box and a note saying, "Plug me In" - They plug in, and the Mickey Mouse blow up I just bought at Walmart will inflate - break through the box and wrapping paper. And, between Mickey's hands, I want to hang a sign - "You're going on a Disney Cruise!"

Like I said -- that's my plan so far. I need to test the inflation idea. I also need to make sure we don't get a huge amount of snow on Xmas Eve to set it up! LOL

Cute idea Kim! I hope it works!!! :earsboy:

We are trying to surprise them at the hotel the day after before we head down to the transfer at the Houston airport. No idea what to tell them about why we are going to Houston...my BFF is pregnant and lives in Dallas so that might be an option. So far I have planned for Mickey Mouse to call my cell phone at 9am local time and I ordered some family shirts from etsy so when they get dressed they will figure it out...hoping I can time it right :)

Hi all, any idea on when the F.E. list will be out? It would be nice to have it to work on the gifts.

Thanks! When I explained it to my husband (Grant), he looked at me like I was nuts... a common occurrence in our household. LOL

I was going to do matching shirts, but Grant said, "Do you really think you're going to get the kids to wear matching shirts in public?" At 17 and 18 - probably not.

That's very cool that you'll be able to hold off so long! I'm dying to tell them NOW! ;-)

Question (as this is our first cruise - let alone Disney cruise!) - I read somewhere that the ship allows you to bring one bottle of wine each on board, is that correct? If so, is that 1 750ml per person - or can you bring 1 1.5l per person?

Another question... does the Disney Wonder's spa have a Rainforest Room?

Thanks!

Kim

Yes with a spa day pass. Here's a great link about treatments, the spa & rain forest. I've done the rasul with my husband & loved it. I've also done a blow dry & styling, wrap, cellulite treatment & manicures. All were very expensive compared to even luxury resort prices. I found the nail polish to be cheap & chip the next day. Chatting with international staff was pleasant during hair & nail treatments. Just bring your own nail polish, as even the upgrade polish for an additional $15 on the translantic cruise chipped within a day or two. Cannot recommend enough the treadmills. They're in the far forward of the ship. It's a tremendous experience to run while looking out at the ocean as we sail then head to the rain forest to relax & then go to a nice dinner.

Thanks, Caryn!

The Rainforest looks like a nice way to spend a bit of time! Plus, love your tip on the treadmills! (Although I'll be walking :-) ) And, good to know about the nail polish! A pedicure was a service I was considering, so I appreciate that tip!

Each Guest 21 years and older may bring two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750ml) or six beers (no larger than 12oz) onboard in carry-on luggage at the beginning of the voyage and at each port-of-call.

They must be in your carry-on. Also there is a corkage fee of $25 if you bring them to dinner.

That is a great idea...a lot of work but i love it. Im not that creative. My daughter is 8 years old. She believes we are going to Cancun Mexico so she know we are going on a trip but she does not know its not Cancun. what Im doing is i got shirts done that say "Disney wonder 2016 girls trip" with the mickey boat image. hopefully she gets it, but i might add more clues in the box. Im super excited since this is our first Disney cruise!

Hi everyone!! Just booked this cruise last night...super excited!! Was wondering if anyone was doing or interested in an open bar event. We participated in one in September on our Hawaii cruise and it was a blast. I believe you need 25 people interested, but it is an hour for $15.00 I believe, all drinks included. There is a cheaper non-alcoholic version as well, but we had such a great time. It is a great way to meet people and for the money it is so worth it if you enjoy cocktails. Also, is there a Facebook page for this cruise?

Can you explain the open bar event - is it just like a private party we all pitch in to pay for?

Just sent you an email of the list as it stands right now. There are still room numbers to be added, but unless someone cancels . . .

Kathy is it to late to join? We just booked and are hoping to join in. We have two staterooms (4 kids). We went on or first Disney Cruise last year and the highlight for my kids was the FE. I am crossing my fingers we can join. Thank you!

All the lists are full, but I will put a new list out there for a couple of weeks and see who else will join it with you. I have a couple of others that had stated they might join another list, so go ahead and send me your information and an email and I will see what will happen.

I will be gone from Dec 3-11 (yes I will be on the Wonder!!), so if there are any more that want to join you will need to put your info down with an email and I will catch up when I return and whatever we have at that time will be the last list.

Hope that works for everyone. We will call it the Pluto list.
